Policies continued.....
Food:

I provide breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. (Please see the
menu ) Breakfast is served between 8:15 am and 8:45am, Lunch is served between 11:00am and 11:30am, snack is served at 3 PM. If your child arrives after a scheduled meal please be sure to feed them before they arrive. Please do not arrive with some food, saying you did not have time. I can not supervise children eating at separate times. For example I assume children scheduled to arrive at 9am have already eaten breakfast. Our breakfast is over and we are already beginning our morning activities Please advise me if there is anything on our menu that will be a problem for your child, so we can see how we can fix it. I reserve the right to substitute any item on the menu for another similar item at any time. Fruit would be replaced with another fruit, muffin for another type muffin etc.
Belongings:

Your child will be provided with a belongings bucket where they may store their belongings.   Children are asked to bring EVERYDAY (or leave at daycare in their buckets) Extra clothing especially socks and underpants and a
swimsuit. A full change is recommended. It is VERY important that children have appropriate shoes and a jacket everyday.  Parents are asked to change the contents of the buckets according to the season .If your child is potty training there should be several changes of underpants in their bucket. I will send home dirty clothes to be brought back or replaced the next day.
Parents will provide diapers and bottles for infants/toddlers to be left at daycare.  I discourage children from bringing toys from home. Any toys brought from home will need to be left in their bucket for the day. I can not be responsible for toys lost or broken while they are at my house. If your child needs or has a special toy or blanket they sleep with for nap, they will be allowed to get it from their bucket when it is time for nap.
Nap /Rest time

Children will nap and rest according to schedules mapped out by their parents and discussed with the caregiver.  Small children and babies will be napping in our portable play pen/crib.Every child will have their own bedding , provided by the caregiver, that will be washed weekly, or more often if needed. Older children  will make use of the bed, which is adjacent to the daycare area.
Release of children

Children will be released ONLY to persons authorized on your registration form. Please let me know in advance if someone other than yourself will be picking your child up at the end of the day.  If you wish someone who is not listed on your registration form to pick up your child I will need a written statement with your signature before I can release your child. Also note that I will ask for Identification from all persons I have not met before when releasing a child. I WILL NOT release a child to anyone who does not have proper identification or to anyone who has been identified as an unauthorized person.
Please arrange for someone else to pick up your child if you feel it is unsafe for you to do so.  Maybe you have had an emotional upset or have been consuming alcohol. I will not release a child to anyone if I feel it is unsafe to do so. I will call an alternate from your list or the R.C.M.P if necessary
Late pick up / No Pick up

Parents are required to pick their children up no more than 15 minutes after the agreed time. Please telephone me if you are going to be late, I understand that sometimes things are out of our control.  It is my policy to charge an additional $10.00 per 30 minutes (or portion thereof) that you are late. Habitual late pickup will be considered breech of contract and result in termination of care, without notice
Please note that in compliance with Child Care licensing regulations I am not allowed to care for a child for more than 13 hours in one day I am required to surrender children left for more than 13 hours to the Ministry of Children and Families
