We didn't really know what an Afghan is, so Tai had to teach us. It began with all those things that make 'outsiders' consider this breed as a stupid one: he sat only when he chose to (of course he knew the command, he learnt it in one day!) and he never came when called (only, sometimes, when we told him to go away...) In those cases we were so happy with the advices we picked up from one of the breed books: to run away from the dog and than he will run after you. It did work... sometimes...
He had the weird trait to pick up a blanket and put it in the water bowl whenever he wanted fresh water. He never failed to get what he wanted, leaving us to deal with the soaked blanket alone...
He left us much too soon. The trauma his death caused was not overcome. All those who knew him, miss him.
            Rest in peace, dear friend...

He is a dream come true, the most exquisite personality embodied in a dog's frame. He gives tons of love , he's extremely well behaved and he retains the true qualities of an Afghan Hound: aloofness, style of high order, coursing/hunting abilities, guarding instincts and beauty. Never too friendly with strangers or strange dogs, he is the best dogsitter for puppies and he is never too tired to play with them!
