The Burning World was my attempt to introduce quality music into an otherwise dreary radio landscape. Most people have no clue what industrial and goth music are, and my mission was to present the best of the genre to the masses. I also played experimental and dark ambient music. The show aired on Friday nights on Ohio University's student-run station, ACRN.
What Happened:
After six months languishing in a dog time slot with no support from ACRN management, I decided to pull the plug on the show at the end of winter quarter, 2001. Despite the fact that I worked hard on the show, and enjoyed doing it, the station was unwilling to promote the show, and I got tired of endless promises that something would be done. I consider the show to have been a success. It found a small, but enthusiastic following, and I played a lot of cool tunes. In the end, though, the hassles I had with an incompetant and unprofessional station managment weren't worth the trouble, so the show was retired.
