Hi! My name is Sherry K. Smith and I am a graduate of Blackburn College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science: History in Secondary Education. I did my student teaching in Southwestern High School (Go Birds!) in Piasa, Illinois, and am currently substitute teaching and tutoring in the surrounding areas of where I live. In addition to the time I spend in the classroom, I am studying for my Master's Degree in Education through the online Technology in Curriculum and Instruction program at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I live in a small rural town, have one daughter who is married, four beautiful granddaughters, twelve houseplants, a karaoke machine, and a mini-van. I like to create crafty stuff, sing, take care of my plants, listen to country music, read, teach, play, and crochet. During the summer, I try to go fishing as much as I can, catch a few movies, and find at least one weekend to go camping. I'm looking forward to the time when I will have my own classroom, and get to use all of the knowledge, skills, and experience that I have gained through my education, relationships, and life experiences. |
