"The '45 Trek"
My First Historical Trek (Summer of 1998)
3 miles SE of (interestingly enough) "Thistle Glen Camp," Lake Pillsbury, Mendocino National Forest, Northern CA.
No, the trek photos above are not of me; I was the guy with the camera. These are of my trekking partner, and close friend, Stephen Mark Rutherford.  He's a researcher type at Oxford University's Department of Plant Sciences.  He was living here for two years while working at the University of Reno.  Back in Britain now, he's a long-time member of E.C.W.S. (English Civil War Society).  Ignore the black cockade in his bonnet.  He's a misguided man who secretly shares in my adulation of Bonnie Dundee, and is a closet-Jacobite!!! (Having said this I'll be sleeping with both eyes open, when next he and I share a trail!)
A good breakfast of rolled oats!
Looking ever so stylish!

(The tune playing is "Caber Feidh"..."Stag's Antlers."  This is also the title of the Chief of my clan, MacKenzie.)
Suas le Caber Feidh! Suas le Alba!
