The name “hospitali - tea” is a delightful play on words that expresses what our ladies’ fellowships are all about.  The word translated “hospitality” in the King James Bible is from the Greek word “philoxenia,” which literally means ‘lover of strangers.’  A ‘tea’ is a light snack and a warm beverage.  When we put the two of them together, we get a monthly meeting, where we boil the water, prepare refreshments, and then spend time getting to know each other, and learning to love one another in the way the Bible commands.

Prayer.  Our teas all begin with a time of prayer.  We pray for those who might be ill, and for other special needs the ladies might have.

Food.  Ladies prepare petite sandwiches, special sweet breads and desserts to share.

Games. Ladies ranging in ages from 2 to 82 participate in our games.

Devotion.  We are currently taking time to study the lives of Bible women.

Crafts. Various ladies of our church bring a craft to share with the others.  Some of the crafts we have done so far include plastic canvas, cake decorating, candy making, and various crafts with fabric and other materials.

Teas are held once a month at the church, usually at 2:00 on a Saturday afternoon.  See our church calendar for the dates of the next ladies' tea.
