I guess some of you are wondering who is putting this web page together?   Well, it is not the handy work of Thing, nor is it It - it is Me!  Mike Romco!   Here is a short autobiography of me (and my wife) as it relates to pinball and our other interests:

I first became interested in pinball machines when I was about 8 years old (during the early 1970's).  At that time, the games were not nearly as sophisticated as today's machines.  My first encounter with a pinball machine, as I recall, was during a cub scout outing to a bowling alley in New Jersey.  There, I got hooked on playing a game called Strikes and Spares (the one with the pretty lady holding the bowling ball).  All the cub scouts hoarded the game and we took turns playing until it was time to bowl.

As a teenager, my buddies and I would sneak into local bars and arcades and play pinball games along the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore.  We would always have a blast!  I always thought it would be great to own one of these games....

Then, one day, my wife casually mentioned to me, "If I could own a pinball game, I would love to have The Addams Family Pinball machine in our basement."  That was enough!  I began shopping around for one locally, then I found one that was reasonably priced over the internet.

I did not tell my wife I was getting the machine.  I ordered it, and when it arrived, with the help of some friends, I hid it in our basement for a few days, and presented it to my wife for her 30th birthday.  Needless to say, she was delighted!

Since then, we have collected various other pinball machines  (LOTS OF THEM!!!) and arcade machines.  I would buy them, fix them up, and resell the ones that I was no longer interested in.  One special note:  My wife states, "We will NEVER sell The Addams Family Pinball machine!"  We enjoy going to pinball auctions, shows, and arcades.  Some of our other favorite games include The Twighlight Zone, Tommy the Who, Dr. Who, Fish Tales, Creature From the Black Lagoon, Bride of Pinbot, Safecracker, Demolition Man, Jurassic Park, Fun House, and many others.  We are also very interested in Merit Megatouch games.

Some of our other hobbies include going on cruises, gardening, visiting friends, and working and restoring our beautiful 180 year old home!

Have a wonderful day!

Mike
