my mom and dad live in the kansas city suberb area. my dad is a workaholic and wears himself out, and my mom is a greyhound fanatic. she would jump off a cliff for her greyhounds.. don't believe me? She actually began a non-profit organization with 2 friends of hers a few years ago called Greyhound Support in Kansas City which helps find homes for the retired racing greyhounds.. my brother, Jacob, is 2 years younger than me. he is into the culinary arts and one day wants to open up his own restaurant. he is also married to his wonderful wife, and my favorite sister-in-law (well, really the only one, but i couldn't ask for better), brandy. they made me an aunt of a beautiful little girl who was born on february, 14, 2002, valentine's day! her name is Kylar. They also had another girl in December of 2003, Kaori. She just turned one year old. my friends are all quite the bunch. first, there is my husband. his name is janak shah, and i met him thru my friend ben. janak is indian (his parents are from india). very handsome. dark skin. tall. And he is my best friend. I'm sure there is no one else who knows me quite the same way he does . my other close friends include suzy, dan, ben, bethanne, and the list goes on..... suzy i have known since my senior year in high school. she was a freshman at the time. she has a daughter, Chloe, who will be 3 soon. dan is my close friend who i met thru my job.. our friendship is a bit odd.. i would have to say we are a bit like siblings. We certainly squabble like ones. ben is a friend i met on the computer. i started talking to him because he enjoys poetry as well. he is actually the person who intruduced me to janak! bethanne i have known since my sophomore year in highschool.. she's living in dublin, ireland right now.. she fell in love with ireland when the two of us went on an awesome trip there with a huge team of people. so what better thing to do but move there? eh? okay, so that is my friends and family in a nutshell. a very large nutshell. Of course, I am having to start over at square one in Naperville with making new friends, and i am slowly but surely making progress. |
