GRAHAM CRACKER CRUMB PIE CRUST

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1 2/3 cups fine graham cracker crumbs (about 20 crackers)

1/4 cup sugar

4 tablespoons softened butter or margarine

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

 

THE PROCESS:

1. Blend together all ingredients.

2. Put crumb mixture into a 9 inch pie plate.

3. Set an 8 inch pie plate on top of crumbs and press them firmly into an even layer on bottom and sides of plate.

4. Bake in moderate oven (375° F) about 8 minutes.

 

VARIATIONS OF GRAHAM CRACKER CRUMB PIE CRUST

Vanilla-wafer-crumb Pie Crust: Follow basic recipe for Graham-cracker-crust substituting 1 1/3 cups fine vanilla-wafer crumbs for 1 2/3 graham-cracker crumbs. Omit cinnamon.

Cereal-crumb Pie Crust: Follow basic recipe, substituting 1 1/4 cups fine cereal flakes for graham-cracker crumbs and increasing shortening to 1/3 cup.
