3 Tablespoons margarine or butter 1 Package (10oz. ~ about 40) regular marshmallows or 4 cups miniature marshmallows 6 Cups Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal 1. Melt argarine in a large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. 2. Add Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated. 3. Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cut into squares when cool. Microwave Directions: In a microwave safe bowl, heat maragine and marshmallows at HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary. Note: For best results, use fresh marshmallows. 1 jar (7oz.) marshmallow creme can be substituted for marshmallows. Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended. |

1/2 Cup Butter (or margarine) 4 Cups Pecan Halves In a skillet, melt buter. Add pecans and cook just until warm an well coated with butter. Then spread out on a large baking dish and bake 15 minutes in oven at 300 degrees. Spread out on paper towels and salt as desired. Store in airtight container. 1 Pound pecan halves 1/2 Cup sugar 1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 Teaspoon salt 1 Egg white 1 Teaspoon water 1. Beat egg white and teaspoon of water until stiff. Stir nuts into egg white mixture and then add sugar, cinnamon and salt. 2. Place on a buttered baking sheet and bake at 200 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. Stir every 15 minutes. When finished, sprinkle very lightly with a little additional salt. |

Old Fashioned Toasted Pecans |

2 Large egg whites 1 Cup peanuts; ground 1 Cup brown sugar 1/2 Cup raisins Beat egg whites until stiff. Add nuts, raisins and sugar, pour into shallow pan greased with butter. Bake in oven until light brown. Make into squares when removed from oven. This will never fail unless allowed to burn. |
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar 1/4 Cup Salt 2 Cups Teriyaki Sauce 1 Cup Water 1 Cup Burgandy or Red Wine (optional) 1/2 Tsp. Onion Powder 1/2 Tsp. Garlic Powder 1 Shot Whisky (optional) 7 Lb. Steak Trim all the fat from the meat. Slice meat with the grain about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. Place in Marinade and leave overnight or for less than 8 hours. Remove from marinade and dry in a food dehydrator or hang strips on shish kabob skewers and hang on oven racks in the oven set to 200 degrees. Jerky is done when all signs of wetness are gone. This is a long process but well worth it in the end. Keep a good eye on the jerky in the oven until done. Never leave Unattended. *NOTE as the meat dries in the oven, it will drip so place a cookie sheet under the meat or use aluminum foil to catch the drippings. |

Teriyaki Beef Jerky |
1 1/2 Cups Water 6 Cups Sugar 3 Pieces of string 6 inches long Food Coloring (any color) Candy Flavoring (any) Bring water to a boil in a sauce pan. Remove from heat and add 3 cups of sugar, stirring until dissolved. Slowly add the remaining sugar, reheating the water if necessary. When all the sugar has dissolved, pour the mixture into 3 heat proof jars or glasses. Stir 3 drops of liquid food color and 1/2 tsp. of flavoring into each jar. Tie a piece of string around a pencil. Lay the pencil over the rim of the jar so that the string is dangling into the liquid. Crystals will begin to form in about an hour and will contiue to form for several days. If a layer forms on the surface of the jar, break it. When the liquid has evaporated completely the candy is ready. |

1/2 Cup Dried papaya slices 1/2 Cup Unsweetened shredded coconut 1/2 Dried Banana Chips 1/4 Cup Dark Raisins 1/4 Cup Golden Raisins 1/3 Cup Pitted Dates 1/4 Cup Chopped dried Apricots (any other dreid fruit you wish to use may be substituted or added) Break banana chips and cut papaya into bite size pieces. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and toss until blended. Store trail mix in air tight bags or containers. Keep in cool place for up to 2 weeks. If planning on mailing these overseas, it's best to make right before your ready to send your package. |
Dried Fruit Trail Mix |
3 Tbsps. Chili Powder 2 Tsps. Ground Coriander 1 1/2 Tsps. Garlic Powder 2 Tsps. Ground Cumin 3/4 Tsp. Dried Oregano 1/2 Tsp. Chili Pepper Flakes Combine all ingredients. Store in air tight container. Shake before using to blend. Used mostly as a rub for meats prior to cooking, but can be used after cooking as well. |
Spicy Seasoning Mix |
If you have a vaccum sealer, that would be the best way to package these, if not try your best to remove as much air as possible from the bags. I have used a straw to suck out as much air as I could. (it works almost as good) |
2 Tbsps. Barbecue Sauce Mix 1 Tsp. Brown Sugar 1/8 Tsp. Cayenne pepper 4 1/4 Cups snack mix type breakfast cereal, such as Chex or Crispix 2oz. Cornuts 3 Tbsps. Oil Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl. Combine cereal and cornuts in a resealable bag. Pour oil over cereal, close bag and toss until well coated.Add barbecue mixture, close bag and toss until coated. |
Barbecue Snack Mix |
1/2 Cup unsalted butter or nargine, melted 1 1/4 Tsps. Seasoned Salt 1 1/2 Tbsps. Worcestershire Sauce 2 Cups Square Corn Cereal 2 Cups Square Rice Cereal 2 Cups Square Wheat Cereal 2 Cups Square Bran Cereal 1 Cup Salted Mixed Nuts Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine first 3 ingredients in a shallow roasting pan. Add cereals and nuts, mixing until all pieces are well coated. Bake for about 60 minutes, stirring every 10-15 minutes. Place mix on paper towels and let cool. |
Party Mix |
4 1/4 Cups Dry Milk Powder 1 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder 1 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Confectioner's Sugar 11oz. Non-Dairy Creamer (powder) 1/2 Tsp. Salt (optional) 1/2 Tsp. Cardamom (optional) Mix all ingredients thoroughly and store in air tight container with tight fitting lid. Add 3 Tbsps. to a standard size mug, then add hot water, stirring to dissolve. Use more or less according to taste. |

In a bowl combine 1/4 cup of any or all of the following tems: Nuts (peanuts, cashews, almonds ...salted or unsalted) Sunflower Seeds Dried Cranberries Dried Cherries Dried Apricots Raisins Mini Chocolate Chips (optional) Chex Cereal Granola Store in an air tight container. |

8 Cups Old Fashioned Oats 2 Cups Coarsely Chopped Nuts (any kind) 2 Cups Raw (untoasted) Sunflower Seeds 1 Cup Sesame Seeds 1 Cup Shredded Unsweetened Coconut 1 Tsp. Salt 3/4 Cup Maple Syrup 3/4 Cup Light-Tasting Vegetable Oil, such as Sunflower Oil 2 Cups Chopped Dried Fruit (raisins, currants, dates, apricots or any other you prefer) In a large bowl, toss together the first 6 ingredients. Warm the maple syrup and oil in a sauce pan. Pour over the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon, then roll up your sleeves and work the mixture with your hands until everything is damp. Spread on baking sheets, no more than about 1/2 inch thick and roast for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown. When the granola has cooled, stir in the dried fruit. Store in jars or plastic ziplock bags. Variation: Instead of all oats, use other grains. Bran or untoasted wheat germ can replace some of the seeds. Makes ONE Gallon. |

Creole Seasoning Mix |
2/3 Cup Instant Coffee granules 1 Cup Powdered Non-dairy Creamer 1 Cup Powdered Chocolate Drink Mix 1/2 Cup White Sugar 3/4 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon 3/8 Tsp. Ground Nutmeg Put the instant coffee into a food processor and process to a fine powder. If you don't have a food processor, place in a bag and crush with a rolling pin. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and stir together until well mixed. Makes 24oz. *Mix 3 Tablespoons of powder with 6oz of hot water. |

Salt Combine all ingredients together and thens tore in air tight containers. *Use about 3 Tbsps. poder to 6oz. hot water. Use more or less to suit taste. |

In a large ziplock bag, combine 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the following ingredients: ** Make as little or as much as you like. Nuts (all kinds) Dried Apples Raisins Dried Bananas M & M's Mini Pretzels Dried Pineapple Chex Mix Cereal Dried Papaya Pumpkin Seeds Dried Dates Sunflower Seeds Dried Apricots Unsweetened Coconut Flakes There's no real right or wrong amount or measurement to this. Just add whatever you like or have on hand. Store in air tight container's or ziplock bags. |
