Arranging our first date! :-P |
So after getting her handphone number, i, as a guy, had to initated contact with Connie. So the most sensible things to discuss were our social lifes and work!! (kind of bore right?) That's sums up everything about me ar, guy with few words,! Heh heh I guessed the next thing on your mind is to see how the girl you have been sms-ing all day looked like. And I swore, I mustered all my courage to ask her out for a date. I suggested 30th November 2002, Saturday, probably for a movie or some coffee session for chit chatting. Her answer wasn't very forthcoming. She told me she already had a date on that day. I was dejected at first, but her subsequent sms to me told me that if I do not mind, she can meet me for breakfast the day after (1st Dec 2002) I replied OK immediately!! :)
She wanted me to come up wtth the place to have breakfast, and told me she wants no fast food and preferably not town area. :D

What happened on 30th November 2002....... |
30th Nov 2002, Saturday, It's my working Saturday and as usual, I left for office around 8plus in the morning. After work, I met up with my buddy in town to pass time. I received an SMS from my collegue, asking me to accompany her to attend one of our other colleague's father wake at around 7pm. Location, Bukit Batok. I wasn't very willing, but agreed notheless. So I told my buddy I have to leave early that day because I got the wake to attend to. I feel bad leaving him in the lurch. Since Bukit Batok is near my place, i decided to go home for a quick shower first.
As I was about to reach home, my colleague called me and to my dismay, told me that she don't feel like attending the wake anymore. My feeling was like, "Oh my god, I got fooled man! It's a Saturday and the time is only like 6:00pm and what am I going to do next man!" |

You've gotta believe in fate, don't you! |
What's going to happen next got to make you believe in fate, well, if not, at least for me! Connie sms me and told me that she was free now at the moment, and asked if i got time to meet her that day instead. (Well, she later told me, it was the first time she ever initiated to ask a guy out!) heh heh :D
I was surprised, to say the least. Well, I recovered, er hem, and, of course agreed! :D So I told her, why not we meet at the entrance of Paragon's coffee club at 8pm. She said yeh!
Haha, so in order to impress, i rushed to my neighbourhood hairdresser to have my long, croppy hair trimmed. I jelled my hair with a messy look to look...er... coolzz... yeh :D
And upon reaching Paragon, I bought a photo frame as a gift for Connie. Well, you can say that's a friendly gift, but I gave to her on the pretext as a pre-Christmas gift. It was kind of rush and the sales promoter was still taking his own sweet time doing the gift wrapping for me! So when all was done, I ran to coffee club and stood there waiting for her. She sms me saying she was wearing a blue dress and that made me searched high and low for a girl in blue dress. |

The First Contact!!! Gosh! |
Now this gal in blue walked straight up to me and said, "You are Royston right". I replied yeh, and to her surprise, I handed her an early Christmas present.
Oh god, her first look stole my mind, my heart and soul. I stumbled with my words... before asking her, should we go watch a movie.
She said ok but while we were on our way to Cineleisure, she revealed to me that she just caught a movie with one of her other net friend, prior to meeting me. I was hesistant, but, like I said, I am a man with few words, and knowing that watching a movie can make time past faster, I insisted. And she agreed. So we bought 2 tickets for a 9pm show called "Swim Fan" (I truely got no idea as this show turned out to be some sort of a seduction movie!) :D With some time on hand, we make our way to the food court at Cineleisure.
We conversed in English and I wasn't very comfortable with that (can't speak for her though!) Her first impression to me was.... talkative.. heh heh (she gonna kill me for this) She can hold a conversation very well and you can say she's good at communicating. Most of her time, she talked I listened. And I kind of felt at ease with that. :D |
