ABOUT WEESKELF
I have bred and shown Siamese cats for about ten years before going to the dogs. In 1981, the purchase of a Shetland Sheepdog was the start of WEESKELF KENNELS. Shelties have kept me busy from then up until 1999. It was in 1987 that three month old Frontenac Make My Day came to WEESKELF. "Terra" taught me how to show Min Pins and she was my first Min Pin Champion!
I am or have been a past President of our local Club - Arnprior Canine Association, as had my husband Bob. I have held the office of a President, Central Director, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor of the CMPC. Bob was President of CMPC for the term 2001 - 2003. I was a member of the MPCA. We were both members of the CKC & Ottawa Kennel Club until my husband passed away in 2004.
At WEESKELF I am now breeding only the Miniature Pinschers but may be adding German Shepherds to the family too. The females are only bred every 12 - 18 months, never back to back! I also have Champion stud dog in red that produces bl/tan offspring, and a bl/red stud dog that carries the chocolate gene. The dogs are socialized in that they get to meet lots of people and other dogs when they come to my home for their grooming needs.
(My hobby as a groomer keeps me busy too.)
My goal is to truly improve on the breed. Hackney action is disappearing and the size is increasing - both of which breeders should be striving to maintain as that which is in the standard.
My breeding min ins are DNA'd for Legges Perthes and Patella Luxation.
