Jay-Z is fulfilling his promise to explore other ventures after his retirement from music this month. The rap mogul, whose Black Album debuted at #1 this week, is rumored to be in the market to buy the New Jersey Nets. ESPN reports that Jay-Z has retained the New York City investment banking firm of Andrew, Alexander, Wise and Co. to explore the possibility of making a bid to purchase the New Jersey Nets. The Yankee Nets holding company put it up for auction in September and is now receiving bids - the highest so far is from New York developer Bruce Ratner at $275 million. Jay-Z's camp has declined comment.
