Fiftieth day of Spring, Year of the Bear [5/4/02]
As I went down today to train with my stave, the Lady Frail was here. She invited me to sit with her, and when I did so, I wondered if she knew much of languages and thought that perhaps she could translate the runes on my bracer, my trophy from the troglodytes. I told her that Gray Master had said the language was Draconic, and she set to translating it. However, she fell asleep before she could finish. So I went to the stables to train, then came up here to--
I just finished speaking with her outside my door; she’s finished the translation. It reads, “Crafted in honor of the coronation of Aran Voldari Elmornen.” Lady Frail says that it seems to be a coronation gift worn by a legendary king among the elves. What a shock--the thing I’ve been wearing as a trophy of my first kill has been around for eons. She told me it was best to continue to wear it and remember what it once was--How did it come into the hands of that trog, though? Perhaps I’ll look into this king more.
