| Story: Geppetto is an old toymaker. One night he wishes on a bright star to make the puppet, he had just made, come alive. When Geppetto sleeps the bright star comes to life. The star turns out to be the Blue Fairy and she's heard his wish. She brings the puppet, Pinocchio, to life. Pinocchio faces a long way to become a real boy. He can't do it all on his own, so the Blue Fairy appoints a little cricket, Jiminy, who just happens to be around, to be Pinocchio's guide in his quest. On his first day Pinocchio meets Honest John and Gideon, an evil duo who will do anything to complete their goal in life: to become rich. So they sell Pinocchio to Stromboli, the puppetmaster. Jiminy can't save Pinocchio this time and the Blue Fairy comes to the rescue. Before Pinocchio and Jiminy can return to Geppetto, they run into the evil duo again. Pinocchio is fooled by them the second time around and before they know it, Pinocchio and Jiminy are on their way to Pleasure Island. Pinocchio is having a great time with Lampwick, a boy who teaches Pinocchio to do everything that is forbidden. Jiminy discovers that when the boys do that, they slowly transform into donkeys and then are sold. Jiminy comes just in time to save Pinocchio, but he's already begun to change into a donkey. They escape Pleasure Island. When they return to Geppetto's house, they can't find him there. A note from the Blue Fairy tells them that Geppetto went looking for Pinocchio and was eaten by the whale Monstro and now lays in his stomach on the bottom of the ocean. Pinocchio and Jiminy dive into the ocean and enter the whale. Pinocchio has a plan to get out. A spectaculair chase follows, but Geppetto is saved. Pinocchio doesn't survive the escape. Geppetto brings the wooden boy back to his house and mourns. Then the Blue Fairy turns the puppet back to life again, this time as a real boy. He has proven himself to be a real boy by saving his father. Geppetto's and Pinocchio's wish has come true. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
