| Story: The story takes place back in 1607 as the Virginia Company sends a ship to the new world to find gold, lots of gold. On board the ship are Governor Ratcliff, who is in for the weath, and Captain John Smith, who wants to find adventure. After a long journey they arrive in Virginia. That is where Pocahontas lives with her father and the rest of their tribe. Unknowing of the strangers, Pocahontas wanders through the forrest. She has had a dream. Grandmother Willow tries to explain her that that dream will point her to her destination. Then the strangers arrive. Pocahontas is the first to see them and spies on them. She follows John Smith into the forrest, while the rest of the crew starts to build a fort and dig for gold. John Smith and Pocahontas meet. They see that their worlds are different, but that they can live together. The opposite seems true. The Indians and the Settlers have a first encouter and one of the Indians is shot. The Indian regroup and send scouts for help. The Settler are also preparing for battle. Pocahontas dares her life to meet John Smith again and tell them that the Indian are on the path of war. He tells her that the Settlers have the same plans. Determined to stop a war, to two want to talk to the Indianchief. They kiss. Kocoum was send after Pocahontas and sees her kissing. He attacks John Smith. While they fight,Thomas, a Settler, shoots Kocoum. The Indians arrive and take John Smith as a prisoner. Thomas warns the Settlers that John has been taken and they prepare for battle, exactly how Governor Ratcliffe want it to be. As dawn breaks and Pocahontas doesn't know what to do. Grandmother Willow tells her to follow her path. She run to stop her father from murdering John Smith. She convinces him not to go at war. The Settlers arrive and she that the Indians doesn't want to fight. It's Ratcliffe who wants this war and shoots at Powhatan, the Indianchief, but John Smith takes the bullet and saves his life. Ratcliffe is taken as a prisoner and put on a ship back to England. John Smith will also sail back, otherwise his injuries will kill him. Pocahontas and he part. Staring from a rock she bids farewell as the ship sails down the horizon. |
