| EPCOT means Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow. It was originally a plan of Walt Disney to become a whole city. A city to the standards of Walt Disney and a prototype on how a city should be. But after his death, this plan was shelved and finally transformed into a themepark. So EPCOT stands for inventions of yesterday, today and tomorrow. It also stands for the world. EPCOT opened its gates on October 1, 1982. Its icon, a huge silver ball named Spaceship Earth, is famous all around the world. |
