SCENIC ROUTE TO GUILFORD FAIRGROUNDS

From Hartford North and South:

Route 91 to Route 9 towards Middletown. Take Exit 13 off Route 9 towards New Haven. Take a left at the stop light onto Route 17 South towards Durham. Travel approximately 7 miles and bear left onto Route 77 South. In approximately 9 miles, you will cross over Route 80, staying on Route 77 South toward Guilford. Travel about ½ mile and turn left on Broad Street, then turn right on Park Street. Continue 2 miles and turn left on Boston Street. Travel another 3/10 mile and turn right on Lovers Lane (looks like a wooded residential area) and Guilford Fairgrounds is on the right.

Note: Going these directions will be 15 miles from the old car show location, Cochinchaug High School.

Based on Mapquest directions, the scenic is approximately 20-25 minutes longer. This route takes approximately 1 hr. 15 minutes from downtown Hartford.

From Route 5 for Northern CT and Western MA folks:

Route 5 South to Route 2E towards Glastonbury and you will be on 2E for approximately 1-1 ½ miles. Follow Route 17 South and take Exit 7 which is a left exit of Route 2E.

Travel approximately 10 miles and turn right, staying on Route 17 South. Continue till you can’t go straight any longer and turn left, staying on Route 17 South. Go over bridge toward Middletown, staying to the right, remaining on Route 17 South (Some signs will say Route 9 South). Remain on Route 17 towards Durham. *Note-if you end up on Route 9 highway, take Exit 13 off Route 9 towards New Haven. Take a left at the stop light onto Route 17 South towards Durham. Travel approximately 7 miles and bear left onto Route 77 South. In approximately 9 miles, you will cross over Route 80, staying on Route 77 South toward Guilford. Travel about ½ mile and turn left on Broad Street, then turn right on Park Street. Continue 2 miles and turn left on Boston Street. Travel another 3/10 mile and turn right on Lovers Lane (looks like a wooded residential area) and Guilford Fairgrounds is on the right.

Note: This route takes approximately 2 hours from the MA/Enfield border
