Her Ole Kentucky Home!

Never straying far from Louisville she now lives in her second owned home. Five acres in the country where it isn't unusual to see deer at night while walking the dogs, or rabbits scurring past the patio while we sit and have morning coffee. Daily is an adventure for her. Her son Dylan has a creek to explore and room to ride his bike. The pool was moved from her second street house to the 'Routt Road' home and it is marvelous. At night fire flies flitter around the pool. Thankfully the tourches keep the mosquitoes at bay. Kentucky has always been Kimberly's home. Have a look at the very first home we bought together.

Dylan Richard

The pride of Kimberly's life is her son Dylan. He just turned 12 this last July. For his tenth birthday he got a trip to Disneyland. For his eleventh he went to Hershey, Pennsylvania. This year he and his mom drove to Louisiana and then Pennsylvania. He also spent the summer being 'just a kid' in Corbin Kentucky. Swimming and fishing and playing with a multitude of friends! What a life. He also is in Scouts where he has advanced to an Instructor. He has two more badges to get before he works on his Eagle Scout.

At Catalina

Travel has always been on Kimberly's list. This summer it was driving trips in the east of the United States. She has flown to California twice, been on a cruise to Ensenada and been to Disneyland twice! The cruise was a Christmas Present from, of all people, my son and his significant other. (fact is they bought tickets for 12 of us. Called it a famcation!) Kimmie had never been on a cruise before and the four days onboard the Carnival Cruise liner has wet her appetite for more. First stop from Los Angeles was Catalina Island. We rented a golf cart and toured the island for over an hour.

Ensenada was fun as Kimmie's passtime is shopping. Bargins make her happier than anything. We had a great time looking in the shops but had to beware that the shop owners didn't pull us into their shop. One place offered us a shot of tequila. Oh what a lovely shop!

Kim and Mickey Mouse

I found out a while back that Kimberly had always begged her mother to take her to Disneyland or Disney World so she could see Mickey Mouse. This had been her dream for at least 30 years. All day long as we walked around the grounds she kept looking for Mickey. We saw lots of other characters , we even had breakfast with a lot of them,... but no Mickey. As it approached 4pm our energy was just about gone and we sat to watch the parade. Kimberly seemed sad and wanted to leave, but I knew who brought up the rear of the parade and talked her into staying...just for a bit. She was like a kid when she saw Mickey Mouse on top of his float. Her face brightened up, she was animated and her camera clicked and clicked. I was happy for her, but I knew I would be in trouble because I didn't tell her that she was sure to see Mickey in the parade.

A month later the three of us, Kimberly, Dylan and I went to Disneyland again. This time we waited an hour in line to actually meet Mickey and have our photos taken with him. It is so nice to share joyous occasions.
