Joel grew up in Mississippi. He moved to
Orlando, Florida and began
doing improv comedy with Wayne Brady at SAK Theater Comedy Lab. In 1995, with Jonathan Mangum and a group of
other improvisers, he moved to Los Angeles. The group
began performing as the Houseful of
Honkeys and played five straight years at the Acme Comedy Theatre. He has been seen in such films as American
Beauty, Princess Diaries, Mystery Men,
Cheaper by the Dozen with Steve
Martin, and the upcoming Princess Diaries
2: The Royal Engagement. You can
catch him on the small screen appearing in shows that include, The Bernie Mac Show, Malcolm In The Middle,
Judging Amy, Seinfeld,
and recently The
Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire. Joel lives
in Los
Angeles.
