Vein - a blood vessel carrying blood away from the heart
Capillary - a thin blood vessel where the exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen take place.  Only one cell thick!!
Red Blood Cell - a blood cell that carries oxygen to tissues.  Each has hemoglobin, or an iron binding substance that allows cells to bind oxygen
White Blood Cell - a blood cell that helps the body fight infection
Heart - an organ that pumps blood to the body; made up of cardiac muscle, it is fed by the coronary arteries
Kidney - an organ responsible for filtering the blood and taking wastes from the cells
Anemia- a deficiency in the blood where the cells cannot carry oxygen to the body tissues
ABO System - a system of categorizing blood types based on protein factors found on red blood cells called antigens
