The first race of the season was full of excitement. Michael Sweeney and Chris Olson both ran in the second heat. Michael Sweeney started on the pole and ended up 5th. Rookie Chris Olson started 8th and finished 7th.
The Main Event started out with Sweeney in 10th and Olson in 19th. On the first lap Chris Olson tangled in a wreck and lost his brakes but ended up 13th at the end. Sweeney was involved in a crash and sent to the back, he worked his way back up to 12th right in front of his teammate. All in all both cars were in one piece after a main full of yellows.
