MANUAL
The Manual will help you get started and explain the scripts features. A help file comes with mako scripts and can be found in the mako folder.
version 3.0
Installation
Mako scripts comes with an easy to use installer package, unfortunatley it will not point directly the folder in which the scripts must be installed, you must to this manually. The folder to install them to should look roughly like this C:\program files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\day of defeat This installer puts the following files in the following places..... mako folder - C:\program files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\day of defeat\dod valve.rc file - C:\program files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\day of defeat\dod commandmenu.txt file - C:\program files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\day of defeat\dod kb_act.lst file - C:\program files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\day of defeat\dod\gfx\shell
Customising
Open the following file in notepad... C:\program files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\day of defeat\dod\mako\custom.cfg This file will give you the ability to change certain features in the scripts such as custom messages and admin options. You will need to change certain parts of the text after the = to engage the options you want. Always save the file after altering or the options wont stay.
Configuring
Configuration of the scripts is all done via the in game controls menu which you will find has a lot more options since the last time you looked at it. It isnt essential to configure all of these options but to get the most out of the scripts i would spend a bit of time looking through all these options and choosing the appropriate keys. I myself use the arrow keys for movement and so use the letter keys for my voice commands (e.g. my G key shouts Grenade!). Three keys that are so often over looked and so very handy are the META / STEALTH / GUI keys, i will go into greater detail with this later.

Voice comm's
The whole point of Mako scripts is to make communication easier, with one button press you can shout any of the voice commands such as Grenade! or Enemy Ahead! Certain voice comms come with added functions.... Area Clear - says what location on the map has been secured and puts a green tick (firemarker) on the minimap in the location your crosshair was pointing. Enemy Ahead - says what location on the map an enemy was spotted and puts a camper icon on the minimap in the location your crosshair was pointing. Sniper Ahead - says what location on the map an enemy sniper was seen and puts a sniper icon on the minimap in the location your crosshair was pointing. MG Ahead - says what location on the map an enemy MG was seen and puts a MG icon on the minimap in the location your crosshair was pointing. Need Backup - tells your team where on the map you need support. Need Ammo - tells your team where on the map you need extra ammo. Bazooka spotted - tells your team where on the map an enemy RPG was sighted. you can turn off these added messages via the cutstom.cfg file.
META key
This is probably one of the most important keys in the scripts, think of it as a SHIFT key, it gives a secondary function to most other keys whilst held down. For instance holding down META + primary fire will drop your weapon, or META + secondary fire swaps to grenade. All voice keys have a secondary function, for instance META backup says follow me to the person you last looked at. a full list of meta functions can be found here.
STEALTH key
When this key is pressed you will turn off all voice's and replace them with text and hand signals for extra stealth behind enemy lines. Pressing the key again will bring you back to normal mode.
GUI menu
The command menu has been totally altered in Mako scripts to include lots of client and admin options, it is also possible to access the voice commands here if you dont want to use the seperate keys. Lastly you can tell people to even the teams or gloat about how you narrowly survived with your remaining health.
