Tigger loosing weight.  Frequently drinks water.  Likes to play with water from sink or toilet.  Still has plenty of energy to jump onto tables and race up the stairs.

Spring 2000

Tigger has less energy.  Doesn't jump up onto tables or chairs as much  and looks unsteady going up the stairs.  On May 10, he is constantly trying to urinate (goes on newspapers instead of litter box).

Tigger has a health examination at the vet.  They also do a blood test.  Results come back positive for diabetes.
May 15 to 21, 2000

Tigger stays at the vet to stablize his diabetes.  His insulin needs are determined.  I now give him insulin injections in the morning and evening.  I don't need assistence because Tigger just sits and purrs while I give him each shot.
May 25, June 1, and June 6

Tigger gets check ups.  Insulin shots adjust from five to six to seven units per injection.  Finally has good blood-sugar level.  Will return in two weeks for another check up.

Tigger is more active.  Sometimes he gets sick but still seems to be gaining some of his weight back.  His general health is really good.

November, 2000
All cats are fed on a morning/dinner schedule.  Tigger is getting so big!  I have to make sure that he doesn't eat the other cats' foods.
December 13-16, 2000
Tigger's behavior changes.  Needs help locating objects.  Taken to the vet.  Tigger has blindness and low blood-sugar level.  Stays at vet to stablize his blood-sugar level.  Tigger is stablized and his eye sight returns.  He now gets four units per injection.  Will be back Thursday for monitoring.
Summer, 2001
Tigger is doing just fine.
Summer 2001
November, 2001
A few days after returning from the vet, Tigger seems to have trouble with his eye sight.  The next morning after breakfast, Tigger is back to normal.  All the cats are doing fine.
March, 2004
Tigger and all the cats are doing fine.  Every now and then he seems confused.  When this happens, I give him some honey and feed him some cat food.  In a few hours he is back to normal.

At night, he sleeps at the head of the bed.  He even has his own pillow.  In the morning, he lets me know it's time to eat.  In the afternoon, he reminds me again.
