DIGI.Com

The Sun 30/3/00 - A new portal that opens the way to more than 300 private educational institutions has been set up. InfoExc Corp Sdn Bhd, the developer of the portal, has also linked up with DiGi Telecommuncations Sdn Bhd to give it a mobile platform, thus enabling greater access to the site. In addition, an alliance has been formed with Microsoft Malaysia to give it a larger user base and content integration with the country's leading portal.

The Star 11/3/00 - Softbank Investment (International) Holdings Ltd a subsidiary of Softbank Corp of Japan is to acquire a 3% stake in DiGi Swisscom Bhd from Tan Sri Vincent Tan. Softbank is a top player in the world Internet scene with a portfolio of over 300 Net companies in the United States, Japan and Europe. DiGi, like all comapnies that Softbank invests in will have an immediate access to the 300 companies with which Softbank is in partnershp. Pursuant ot DiGi's recently concluded rights issue, a moratorium was imposed on substantial shareholders where they can only sell their shares 10 market days after the listing of the new shares. DiGi.Com now has Telenor of Norway and Softbank, Japan's largest Net builder as its strategic partners in telecommunications and Internet ventures.

The Star 10/3/00 - DIGI Swisscom Bhd the holding company os DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd is now known as DiGi.Com Bhd. It said the move reflected the change in its strategic partner from Swisscom to Telenor AS of Norway.

The Star 2/3/00 - DIGI Swisscom Bhd has reported a pre-tax profit of RM9.06mil for its third quarter to Jan 31, 2000, up 27% on RM7.14mil recorded in the preceding quarter. The company said the profit was achieved on the back of a 5% increase in turnover to RM169.88mil from RM162.42mil previously. In the corresponding quarter of 1999, DIGI incurred a loss of RM28.255mil on a turnover of RM129.963mil.

Faber

(word of mouth) 17/3/00 - Faber's market capitalisation will be reduced (two to one) and issuance of loan stocks.

The Star 2/3/00 - Faber Group Bhd has registered a pre-tax loss of RM45.32mil for its second quarter ended Dec 31, 1999.

Litrak

The Star 20/3/00 - Litrak, a 39%-owned associate company of Gamuda which operates the Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP) Highway, is expected to benefit from the increasing traffic volume at the highway. The highway is registering a traffic volume of 240,000 vehicles per day and that volume is growing at a rate of 1,000 to 2,000 vehicles daily.

The Star 11/3/00 - Airport, UDA and Litrak are included whereas CSM, Farlim and Pilecon are excluded as component stocks of KLSE CI.

Puncak

The Star 1/3/00 - Puncak Niage Holdings Bhd has chalked up a 79.5% jump in pre-tax profit to RM102.76mil for its financial year to Dec 31, 1999. It said its pre-tax profit rose substantially over hte previous year owing to hte increase in production volume and bulk supply rates. Puncak Niage said the Sungai Selgaor Water Supply Scheme Phase II Stage I, which started full operation in November 1998, had contributed to a full-year production for the just-ended financial year. The company is optimistic that the performance of the group in the coming years will be further enhanced with the construction of the Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme Phase II Stage II which is targeted for completion by this December.
