Just a little suspension test to see if anything is rubbing or extending too much. What was weird is that the passenger front tire is not rubbing right now, but when I went up the wall front first, it rubbed on the 3rd railroad tie. So some more cutting is now in order. Not sure how much more it will flex before a tire comes up, because one shock looks fully extended and the other has about 1" before it bottoms out, but it looks like it is doing pretty good for now. Oh yeah, the 2" body lift is installed too. I had to lower the steering column and the radiator. |
The soft top installed. It looks good, but it was a major pain to install. What was so hard were the back corners. I finally modified them to scoot in and a little up so that the soft top corner would actually hook it, and the final product look good and was easy enough to install. But everything fit really well; it was cool to have a roof over your head again. |
Sweet.........dude. |
Yeah baby, yeah. |
The new door rubber, as Brandon points to it just like a pro. |
Now for the Front Flex test........ |
Well, I had already cut some of the back part of the front fender well out so, with that and the body lift, I decided to try and see how far up the wall I could go. So far, the suspension hasn't stopped me, I still have 2" of down travel on my front shock, and 1" up travel on the other one, ...I started to rub again. So, back to cutting some more of the fender well again. If I had straightened up the wheel, I could have gone on up, but it was turned a little, which is fine because it needs to be able to flex and turn at the same time. I will try again soon. But I was still impressed with the flexability so far. |
Gotta do something about that SS brake line...It is almost at its limit. |
The Rear Flex test........ |
AGR overhauled my steering box, and it seems to be turning better, but I will have to take it out and on the rocks to see how much better than stock it will be. |
AGR also overhauled my power steering pump to put out 1500 psi, potentially, along with all new hoses and fittings to connect between the box and pump. |
My attempt at a D & C Front Winch Bumper, loved the design, but hard to make. |
Got all the holes and end caps covered up. By the time I was done, I was sick of welding and grinding. |
Installed with a "C" clamp to see how everything is lining up....I think I just saved myself about $400. |
