Summertime - and the living is way, way hot! Kind of like spending vacation on Vulcan with two suns blazing down. Good reason to stay inside and do Trek stuff. Of course, you don't need an excuse for that!

Does it feel like we've been doing this for a year? If you're like me, sometimes it feels like we just started, and sometimes it feels more like a lifelong struggle. But, I believe it has been worth it. We actually garnered a mention in the Vindicator newsletter - that makes us pretty official. However, with the officer changes, we need to update our information. Just a formality, though.

By the time this hits all the mailboxes, the convention will be over, and hopefully everyone had a great time. This crew tends to make its own fun, so I'm sure we did. Now it will be time to start gearing up for the Lubbock con - the guest, I am told, will be none other than William Shatner. So everyone get out your Spock ears and your "Beam Me Up Scotty" T-shirts and load up in someone's mom's station wagon, and head out. Party-time! Excellent!

We are in definite need of a project - either some public service function or a fund-raiser. It's bonding time at the U.S.S. Fearless, and bond we shall - even you quiet ones that sit in the corner and never say anything. (You know who you are...) So watch your backs - you never know when a project will strike!

At the July meeting, we'll celebrate our birthday. We'll have cake and ice cream (of course!) and exchange gifts. So everyone bring a gift ($10 or under - Trek related hopefully) and we'll do it up right. Happy birthday to us, happy birthday to us, happy birthday U.S.S. Fearless, happy birthday to us! I know some of you will mention that the Fearless isn't really a year old, and that's true. If you really get technical, the Fearless was born the day the hemorrhoids were extricated from the warp drive, thereby allowing us to fly free. Make it so!

I'm starting to ramble (serious case of Tribble brain) (Brain, brain, what is brain?!) so I'm beaming out of here. Hope to see everyone for birthday fun (bring a friend, okay?)...
