FROM THE BRIDGE

by Commander Becky Norris

Greetings from the bridge!

Well, I hope everyone is having a nice April so far. I'm looking out the window at a virtually black sky wondering if it's going to rain or just be black. Rain would be great (everybody knows that!), but black sky would just be depressing. Anyway, April is upon us, and that brings us closer to our usual shuttle spring activities. By that I mean of course the crew picnic, which I'm sure has been mentioned in this and previous newsletters. It will be held next month at the park in Big Spring. Anyone who needs a ride just make arrangements to car pool. There shouldn't be a problem getting anyone there who needs a ride. Also, make your side dishes 'cause I'll bet we're all hungry by then!

Also, I've been in contact with Habitat for Humanity, and it looks like we will be working for them on April 27, which is the Saturday after our meeting. Everyone should make plans to be there when we help out this very worthwhile organization--it really makes you feel good to work hard and get this much satisfaction from it.

Everyone be sure and give our new members a great big FEARLESS welcome. We signed up several at the Barnes & Noble meeting--our crew is growing. That is great news and it will help us when it is time to commission. Not to mention that we get a lot of new friends! So everybody introduce yourselves to anyone new and make them feel welcome.

I would like to encourage everyone to attend some classes at Starfleet Academy. The tests are not terribly difficult, and you'll always learn a little something you didn't know. And it's a great way to broaden your horizons and work toward a promotion!

Now as I look out the window, I see little raindrops, so that raindance thing really works! (I wish I had thought of that two months ago!)

Everyone have a great Easter--see you at the meeting!
