THE GRAND CANAL (1987) CAST
Upon being informed of the news that Yeung Sin and Yeung Yung had died, Yeung Lan Ling returned to the palace to question her brother Yeung Guo over the deaths. Yeung Guo used honeycombed words and stated that Yeung Yung had attempted to kill him. Yeung Guo insisted that he accidentally killed Yeung Yung in self defense and that Yeung Yung had been misinformed by his friends to kill him. Upon hearing this Yeung Lan Ling sought to find the people who misinformed Yeung Yung and left. Yeung Guo smiled as Yeung Lan Ling left as his plan had worked. Having now become the Emperor Yeung Guo sought to eliminate Lord Yeung Sau next. He wanted to use Yeung Lan Ling to do his dirty work and thought of many plans to trick her into helping him. Meanwhile Lee Mun and Lee Seung Yee did not back with the main group. Cheung Sam Long, Lee Jing, Cheung Chut Chun and Taoist Sin were all forced to hide in the mountains. General Yee Lan was sent out to capture and execute them but he failed. Having failed to kill them, Yeung Guo, tried a different tactic. He put out a message to the common people informing them the Cheung Sam Long was a hero and there would be a reward for the person who locates him because the Emperor Yeung Guo wanted to congratulate him. By doing this Yeung Guo thought that he would be able to trick the common folk into helping him find Cheung Sam Long whilst masking his evil intentions which would not be suspected by Yeung Lan Ling. At the same time Yeung Guo sent a message to Lee Ying to capture and execute Cheung Sam Long and his friends. One day Lee Jing had enough of hiding in the mountains and went to seek Lee Sai Mun. Knowing that Cheung Sam Long would refuse to take protection under Lee Sai Mun, Lee Jing, went by himself. Lee Sai Mun then personally requested Cheung Sam Long to seek shelter with him. With Lee Sai Mun present Cheung Sam Long could not refuse. When Lee Ying discovered that Lee Sai Mun had brought Cheung Sam Long and his friends into his territory he became upset. He threaten to kick Lee Sai Mun out of his household unless he takes Cheung Sam Long and his friends elsewhere. But Lee Sai Mun vowed to protect his friends. Meanwhile Yeung Guo had captured Chun Wai Leung and wanted to rape her. Chun Wai Leung grabbed the knife and stabbed Yeung Guo and threaten to commit suicide. This forced Yeung Guo to back off. Later Chun Wai Leung managed to escape from the palace. Soon Yeung Guo decided to build a new palace at Luoyang. Lee Sai Mun was charged with overseeing the work. Many common people began to protest at the way Yeung Guo was treating them. Yeung Lan Ling attempted to persuade her brother not to build the new palace. Yeung Guo stated that he was not building the palace for his own gains but for the good of the nation so Yeung Lan Ling backed off. Yeung Sau was also against the idea of a new palace so Yeung Guo and General Yee Lan thought of a plan to eliminate him. Yeung Guo requested Lee Ying to secretly bring his troops back to the capital city. Yeung Guo wanted to use Lee Ying's forces to deal with Yeung Sau. Lee Sai Mun thought that it was a trick and decided to take the troops himself along with Lee Jing and Lee Yin Ba. Yeung Sau got hold of the news that Lee Sai Mun was secretly brining troops into the capital city and sought to deal with him. Whilst Lee Sai Mun went to see the Emperor Yeung Guo, Yeung Yin Gum taunted Lee Yin Ba who could not resist attacking him. Lee Yin Ba was captured and Lee Sai Mun was accused of committing treason by Yeung Sau. Left with no choice Yeung Guo ordered Lee Sai Mun and Lee Yin Ba to be taken to the dungeon. Angry that his plan had failed Yeung Guo quickly thought of another resolution. Mysteriously Yeung Guo received news that Tak Keut was preparing an attack on the Siu Dynasty. Since Yeung Yin Gum refused to go and battle with the Tak Keut forces, Yeung Guo, suggested releasing Lee Sai Mun and Lee Yin Ba to deal with the Tak Keut forces. Yeung Guo also granted Lee Sai Mun, Yeung Yin Gum's forces to take with him. Lee Sai Mun and Lee Yin Ba was subsequently released. Upon returning to Tai Yin, Lee Sai Mun, discovered that the Tak Keut forces had not attacked the Siu Dynasty. Right away Lee Sai Mun, knew what Yeung Guo was up to. Meanwhile Yeung Sau discovered that Tak Keut had not attacked the Siu Dynasty. At once he realized that Yeung Guo and General Yee Lan had wanted to eliminate him. Yeung Sau had captured Chun Wai Leung and thought that it was the right time to use her to expose Yeung Guo as the person who murdered Yeung Sin and Yeung Yung. Meanwhile Ching Ngow Gum accidentally kills General Yee Lan's second eldest son, to save Bak Mao Dan. Lee Jing was amongst the group when General Yee Lan attacked Ching Ngow Gum's band of mountain robbers to avenge his son's death. During the attack Lee Mun arrived to save Master Sin, the leader of the mountain robbers. When Chun Keng, Ching Ngow Gum, and the others met up with Master Sin, Lee Mun, decided to leave realizing that he had made another good friend. Meanwhile Lee Jing became separated and stumbled across Chun Wai Leung who was being held by Yeung Sau. Chun Wai Leung informed Lee Jing that she witness the murder of Yeung Sin and Yeung Yung by Yeung Guo. She wanted Lee Jing to take the message to Cheung Sam Long but Lee Jing decided to rescue her instead. Lee Jing would later be surprised to discover that Chun Wai Leung was not as tough as Cheung Chut Chun. This slowed them down because Chun Wai Leung was not used to travelling in such a manner. When Yeung Sau discovered what had happened he sent his troops led by Yeung Yin Gum to recapture Chun Wai Leung. Lee Jing was ambushed and suffered a heavy injury but was saved by Chun Keng. Lee Jing and Chun Wai Leung continued on their way as Chun Keng went to inform Cheung Sam Long. Having been informed of the situation, Chueng Sam Long, Cheung Chut Chun, and Taoist Sin went back with Chun Keng to help Lee Jing. Cheung Sam Long then went to find Yeung Lan Ling in the hope that she would help them locate Lee Jing. Yeung Lan Ling agreed but also informed Yeung Guo of the situation. Once Yeung Guo realized that Yeung Sau had tried to blackmail him with Chun Wai Leung he sent Yee Lan Fai to murder Chun Wai Leung. At the same time Yeung Guo, promoted Yeung Yin Gum into an official and gave his General status to Yee Lan Fai. Yeung Sau realized that Yeung Guo was slowly weakening his military power and thus sent Yeung Yin Gum to capture Chun Wai Leung before he was to begin work in his new position. As the days went by Yeung Lan Ling's personal guards, Yeung Yin Gum, and Yee Lan Fai all attempted to track down Lee Jing and Chun Wai Leung. Lee Jing and Chun Wai Leung were stop attempting to leave a small town. Yeung Yin Gum and Yee Lan Fai fought with each other to capture Chun Wai Leung. Strangely even Yeung Lan Ling's personal guards attempted to kill Chun Wai Leung. Mo Ming Do Yan then reported the incident to Yeung Lan Ling who was drinking with Cheung Sam Long. When being questioned by Cheung Sam Long, Mo Ming Do Yan, only revealed the identity of one of the parties attempting to pursue Chun Wai Leung. When Yeung Lan Ling heard that Yeung Yin Gum was involved she laughed and thought that Yeung Yin Gum wanted to murder Chun Wai Leung to get rid of evidence. But Mo Ming Do Yan informed her otherwise. Cheung Sam Long then laughed and informed Yeung Lan Ling that it was possible that Yeung Guo's men were the ones attempting to murder Chun Wai Leung to get rid of evidence. At once Yeung Lan Ling rejected the idea stating that Yeung Guo has nothing to do with Chun Wai Leung. At once Cheung Sam Long got upset because he did not expect that Yeung Lan Ling would do something so stupid as to inform the man who was behind the murder of Yeung Yung. Despite knowing that Yeung Lan Ling might inform Yeung Guo on their every move, Cheung Sam Long, still elected to travel with Yeung Lan Ling to locate Lee Jing. Along their journey Yee Lan Fai attempted to ambush and murder Cheung Sam Long. He failed and was captured, at once Yeung Lan Ling, recognized Yee Lan Fai who stated that is was a misunderstanding and that he was attempting to capture a wanted man. Yeung Lan Ling believed Yee Lan Fai and allowed him to leave much to the disgust of Cheung Sam Long. Later that evening Cheung Sam Long received a visit from Cheung Sin Mo Kau who wanted to travel with them. Cheung Sam Long allowed her to stay and the three continued on their way. Meanwhile Lee Jing and Chun Wai Leung managed to shelter in a cave and awaited help. Cheung Chut Chun also went by herself to locate Lee Jing. She arrived in time to save Lee Jing and Chun Wai Leung to get through a military post to head towards Tak Keut. Upon meeting up with Lee Jing and Chun Wai Leung, Cheung Chut Chun, because jealous because Lee Jing seemed to care more about Chun Wai Leung then her. Once they were ambushed and Lee Jing went to save Chun Wai Leung rather than Cheung Chut Chun. She managed to survive but was disappointed with Lee Jing, who had to convince her that he loved her the most. Upon hearing those words from Lee Jing, Cheung Chut Chun remained behind to help them. Meanwhile Cheung Sam Long, Yeung Lan Ling, and Cheung Sin Mo Kau returned to join up with Ching Ngow Gum and the others. During this time Cheung Sin Mo Kau helped Bak Mao Dan to trick Ching Ngow Gum into becoming drunk. Bak Mao Dan had always wanted to marry Ching Ngow Gum so she jumped into bed with him to make look as if they had slept together. In the morning Cheung Sin Mo Kau took the others and exposed them, so Ching Ngow Gum was left with no choice but to marry Bak Mao Dan. Unknown to all of them Ching Ngow Gum actually loved Bak Mao Dan very much. Later Cheung Sin Mo Kau attempted to apply the same trick to force Cheung Sam Long to marry her. Cheung Sam Long knew what she was up to and made both Cheung Sin Mo Kau and Bak Mao Dan drunk. He then went to find Yeung Lan Ling who wanted Cheung Sam Long to run away Sai Wek with her. Yeung Lan Ling was being to suspect that her brother Yeung Guo did infact murder Yeung Sin and Yeung Yung, but did not want to admit it. Later Cheung Chut Chun was captured and Lee Jing and Chun Wai Leung were being surrounded. Cheung Sam Long, Yeung Lan Ling, Ching Ngow Gum, Chun Keng and the others arrived to save them. But when they discovered that Cheung Chut Chun had been captured they left Yeung Lan Ling and Chun Keng in charge of protecting Chun Wai Leung as they went to rescue her. But they were not successful and returned to Ching Ngow Gum's residence. Chun Wai Leung then informed everyone present that Yeung Guo had murdered Yeung Sin and Yeung Yung. Upon hearing this Yeung Lan Ling went into a state of disbelief and accused Chun Wai Leung of collaborating with Yeung Sau. Even Cheung Sam Long could not convince Yeung Lan Ling that Chun Wai Leung had told the truth. This put a rift in their relationship as Cheung Sin Mo Kau and Yeung Lan Ling went at each other. Later Chun Keng, Ching Ngow Gum, and Cheung Sin Mo Kau attempted to rescue Cheung Chut Chun by themselves. the failed and Cheung Sam Long and Lee Jing arrived to help them but they were all captured Yeung Yin Gum. Finally Yeung Lan Ling visited Yeung Sau, and her personal guards help to free them. In order to save Cheung Chut Chun, Chun Wai Leung, went to see Yeung Sau herself. She agreed to help Yeung Sau on the condition that Cheung Chut Chun was released. Yeung Sau agreed and released Cheung Chut Chun. Having achieved her objective, Chun Wai Leung, committed suicide. Now that they no longer had a witness, Cheung Sam Long, vowed to find the evidence which would expose Yeung Guo as the real murderer of Yeung Yung. Despite Chun Wai Leung's actions, Yeung Lan Ling, still did not believe that Yeung Guo was the one who murdered Yeung Yung. She immediately returned to the palace to question her brother, Yeung Guo, over the matter. Yeung Guo stated it was one of Yeung Sau's plans to gain the throne. Yeung Guo the used his brother-sister relationship status to trick Yeung Lan Ling in helping him deal with Yeung Sau. Meanwhile Lee Seung Yee entered Lord Yeung Sau's residence and discovered that Chun Wai Leung was still alive. She informed Cheung Sam Long of the situation and attempted to locate Chun Wai Leung. Upon locating Chun Wai Leung, Lee Seung Yee ran into Yeung Lan Ling. The two battled as Cheung Sam Long arrived to help Chun Wai Leung. Lee Seung Yee and Yeung Lan Ling continued to battle so Cheung Sam Long went to restrain them. As he approached them a masked man injured Chun Wai Leung with a poison dart. Chun Wai Leung died for real this time, and Cheung Sam Long blamed Yeung Lan Ling for the death. Soon Lee Jing, Cheung Sin Mo Kau, Lee Seung Yee, and Cheung Chut Chun all hated Yeung Lan Ling. Cheung Sam Long vowed to avenge Chun Wai Leung's death but he wanted to find some real evidence that Yeung Lan Ling had wanted to kill her first. The others thought that Cheung Sam Long was not willing to kill Yeung Lan Ling. Meanwhile Ching Ngow Gum's band of mountain robbers stole treasure from Yeung Sau and were under attack from Yeung Yin Gum. This was all part of Yeung Guo's plans to deal with Yeung Sau. Yeung Lan Ling then secretly informed Ching Ngow Gum's band of mountain robbers to steal the treasure. At this stage the cunning Lee Mun, attempted to test how many troops Cheung Sam Long had managed to build up over the years by requesting him to help, Ching Ngow Gum. Cheung Sam Long suspected Lee Mun but at the same time he wanted to help Ching Ngow Gum and Chun Keng so he thought of another plan. Instead of using force, Cheung Sam wanted to out smart Yeung Yin Gum. Meanwhile Lee Ying received an invitation to attend Yeung Sau's 60th birthday. Lee Ying did not want to attend the function and decided to send Lee Sai Mun and Lee Yin Ba instead. Lee King Sing began to get jealous that Lee Sai Mun was sent to take care of all important missions. Meanwhile Cheung Sam Long, Lee Mun and the others attacked and burnt Yeung Yin Gum's camp forcing them to retreat. When Yeung Sau was informed of Yeung Yin Gum's defeat he became distressed as Yeung Guo also attended his 60th Birthday. At Yeung Guo got up angry that his troops would be defeated by mountain robbers. Yeung Guo then ordered Lee Sai Mun and Lee Yin Ba to take power of Yeung Yin Gum's troops to deal with the mountain robbers. Yeung Guo then ordered Yeung Sau to bring Yeung Yin Gum before him. Yeung Yin Gum was then locked up in the dungeon for his inability to capture the mountain robbers. When Yeung Sau discovered that it was his own wife who had kept Yeung Guo informed of all his plans he poisoned her to death. After that event Cheung Sam Long met with Yeung Lan Ling once more. But when Yeung Lan Ling discovered that Lee Seung Yee was with Cheung Sam Long she began to get angry. She informed Cheung Sam Long to be careful of Lee Seung Yee before using dirty tactics to force her to leave Cheung Sam Long. Later Yeung Guo decided to execute Yeung Yin Gum to anger Yeung Sau into action. By doing this Yeung Guo was confident that he would be able eliminate Yeung Sau quicker. Yeung Sau took immediate action and invited six trusted Generals to help him deal with Yeung Guo. Unknown to Yeung Sau these six Generals with the help of Yeung Lan Ling and Yee Lan Fai had already pledge their loyalty to Yeung Guo. Thinking that he would succeed in murdering Yeung Guo, Yeung Sau captured Yeung Lan Ling and took control of the capital city. Before being captured Yeung Lan Ling, sent a letter to Lee Sai Mun, to bring his troops to deal with Yeung Sau at the capital city. Whilst Yeung Sau went to greet Emperor Yeung Guo, who returned to the capital city, Lee Sai Mun, secretly attacked and took control of the city. Inside the palace Yeung Sau was preparing to murder Yeung Sau, when Lee Sai Mun arrived with the heads of his two most trusted Generals. Yeung Sau did not worry however as he though his six other Generals would help him but to his surprise they sided with Yeung Guo. With no alternative, Yeung Sau, took Yeung Lan Ling out as a hostage in the hope that he could use her life in return for an opportunity to escape. Yeung Guo took no chances however and ordered the capture of Yeung Sau regardless. Yeung Sau made an attempt to escape and was about to kill Yeung Lan Ling when Cheung Sam Long arrived to block his blow. Lee Jing and Cheung Sam Long then battled with and captured Yeung Sau. Despite this Yeung Guo ordered the capture of Cheung Sam Long and Lee Jing as well. Luckily for them Cheung Chut Chun was waiting to receive them below the palace walls and the jumped on the straw cart below and escaped. Despite the fact that Yeung Guo had cared little about her life, Yeung Lan Ling, still believed that her brother Yeung Guo was a good person. Upon hearing this Cheung Sam Long was angry and because of what Yeung Lan Ling had done to Lee Seung Yee, he asked her to leave immediately. Yeung Sau was later executed, and General Yee Lan and Yee Lan Fai were promoted for their efforts. Yeung Guo set out to deal with Lee Ying next and came up with a plan to execute the whole "Lee" family. Knowing that Lee Sai Mun were good friends with Ching Ngow Gum and Chun Keng, Yeung Guo ordered him to eliminate Ching Ngow Gum's band of mountain robbers. If Lee Sai Mun refuse then Yeung Guo would have the opportunity to execute his family for committing treason. Lee Sai Mun anticipated what Yeung Guo was trying to do but at the same time he wanted to let Ching Ngow Gum, Chun Keng, Cheung Sam Long, Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun go. So he came up with a plan of allowing Cheung Sam Long, and the others to escape. Lee Sai Mun then burnt the mountain robbers hideout to the ground so that Yeung Guo would think that they had been eliminated. Yeung Lan Ling was sent to spy on the mountain robbers and knew what Lee Sai Mun had done but decided to keep it a secret but decided to continue spying on them. Cheung Sam Long decided to head back to his house but, Ching Ngow Gum, and Chun Keng decided not to follow him. Instead they went their own way and ran into a small group of mountain robbers led by Sak Kau. Meanwhile Lee Sai Mun returned to inform Yeung Guo that the mountain robbers had been eliminated much to his surprise. But Yeung Guo didn't mind his focus shifted on other matters. Later Ching Ngow Gum decided to leave Sak Kau's group to join up with Lee Sai Mun, who was planning to confront Yeung Guo with his own troops. But Lee Sai Mun wanted help from Cheung Sam Long first before attacking Yeung Guo. When Ching Ngow Gum and the others turned up, Lee Sai Mun, decided to direct them to Cheung Sam Long instead. As they went to find Cheung Sam Long, Ching Ngow Gum and Chun Keng rescued Lee Seung Yee and her master from Yeung Lan Ling's clutches. Lee Seung Yee was acting suspiciously as s he battled with Yeung Lan Ling. During the struggle Lee Seung Yee's master fell to his death. Since Lee Seung Yee's master was dead Yeung Lan Ling decided to leave. Later Ching Ngow Gum, Chun Keng, Lee Seung Yee and the others met up with Cheung Sam Long. Upon hearing about the death of Lee Seung Yee's master, Cheung Sam Long, began to get angry once more and vowed to deal with Yeung Lan Ling. As soon as he completed the sentence Yeung Lan Ling entered the room with her personal guards. Cheung Sam Long immediately battled with and captured Yeung Lan Ling, but she had captured many innocent people forcing Cheung Sam Long to release her. Yeung Lan Ling then threaten to close down Cheung Sam Long's businesses and unless Lee Seung Yee leaves him. Cheung Sam Long refuse to be blackmailed in such a manner by Yeung Lan Ling who gave him time to think over his decision. Later Yeung Guo has raised the taxes causing the common folk to suffer. At once Lee Jing, Cheung Chut Chun, Ching Ngow Gum, Chun Keng and the others all attempt to persuade Cheung Sam Long to form an alliance with Sak Kau, to deal with Yeung Guo. Cheung Sam Long sensed that time was not yet right for a rebellion and was against the idea. Lee Seung Yee had spied on Cheung Sam Long and persuaded him not to form an alliance with Sak Kau. Infact Yeung Lan Ling and Lee Seung Yee then collaborated with each other to cause a drift between Cheung Sam Long and the others. Yeung Lan Ling's plan was to have Lee Seung Yee convince the others to steal all of Cheung Sam Long's treasure. When Cheung Sam Long found out what they had done he became furious and told everyone to leave including Lee Jing and Cheung Chut Chun. Lee Jing, Cheung Chut Chun, and the others then went to see Lee Sai Mun, who also rejected the idea of a rebellion. Later Cheung Sam Long visited Lee Sai Mun to discuss a possible rebellion. Both men decided that time was not yet right and Cheung Sam Long left. Even without Lee Sai Mun and Cheung Sam Long's help, Lee Jing, Cheung Chut Chun, Ching Ngow Gum, Chun Keng and the others went to see Sak Kau and Ngai Kwong Jai. Having succeeded in her plans Lee Seung Yee decided to leave Cheung Sam Long's side. Yeung Lan Ling then visited Cheung Sam Long to inform him that he could continue operate his business. Cheung Sam Long was furious because he thought that Yeung Lan Ling had deliberately caused Lee Seung Yee to leave. Yeung Lan Ling sighed as she knew that Lee Seung Yee had caused a deep rift between them. In the end Cheung Sam Long decided to head up towards Ngai Kwong Jai himself since he could not persuade the others. Lee Jing, Cheung Chut Chun and the others were surprised when they went up to Ngai Kwong Jai to see that Cheung Sam Long was already there. Meanwhile Yeung Guo was bored and requested Yee Mun Fai Kap to keep him company. One day Yeung Guo met Yee Mun Fai Kap's wife Fai Sau Cum and fell inlove with her. Yeung Guo informed Yee Mun Fai Kap to leave them as he spent time with Fai Sau Cum. Since helping Yeung Guo gain the throne by executing Yeung Sau, General Yee Mun, wanted to gain the throne himself. So he was happy that Yeung Guo had fallen for his son's wife. Soon the common folk began to protest against Yeung Guo and General Dau freed some of the workers who were to be executed for being lazy. General Dau became a wanted man so Sak Kau, Cheung Sam Long, and the others went to rescue him. General Dau was ambushed but was saved by Lee Mun. Upon seeing Lee Mun, Sak Kau, was impressed by his heroic ways. Lee Mun agreed to stay at Ngai Kwong Jai along with the others. When Yeung Guo heard what had happened he sought Yeung Lan Ling's help. Yeung Lan Ling agreed to help her brother eliminate Ngai Kwong Jai, and tricked Cheung Sam Long into believing that she was being persuaded by Yeung Guo because she exposed that him as Yeung Yung's murderer. Upon hearing that Yeung Lan Ling was surrounded Cheung Sam Long went to rescue her. Sak Kau thought that Yeung Lan Ling was telling the truth and allowed her to stay at Ngai Kwong Jai. At Ngai Kwong Jai, Yeung Lan Ling, only managed to make friends with Bak Mao Dan, whilst everyone else ignored her. In the days that followed General Dau leaves Ngai Kwong Jai but stumbles across Magistrate Wong taking the workers wages for himself. He was about to intervene when, Lee Mun, arrives to deal with Magistrate Wong. Lee Mun and General Dau would later be surrounded, but Lee Mun wanted to be a hero and battled with the soldiers allowing General Dau to escape. General Dau then informed Sak Kau of the trouble that Lee Mun was in. Upon being informed of the situation Sak Kau, was once again impressed with Lee Mun's seemingly heroic ways. Immediately Sak Kau, Ching Ngow, Chun Keng and the others set out to save Lee Mun. Upon being rescued Lee Mun elected to remain at Ngai Kwong Jai but now he was renowned as big hero and everyone wanted to follow him. Later Lee Seung Yee also arrived at Ngai Kwong Jai to look for Cheung Sam Long. But mysteriously as soon as Lee Mun and Lee Seung Yee arrived at Ngai Kwong Jai there was news that there was a traitor amongst the camp. Everyone suspected that the traitor was Yeung Lan Ling but Cheung Chut Chun knew otherwise. One night Cheung Sam Long, Sak Kau, and Lee Mun thought of a plan to capture the traitor. Lee Mun was the one who led the way and captured the men. Yeung Lan Ling was linked to the captured men who committed suicide according to Lee Mun. Once they were back at Ngai Kwong Jai, Lee Mun, took this opportunity to convince Sak Kau to use his troops to deal with Yeung Guo since their activities had been uncovered. Cheung Sam Long was still not convinced but knew that if he refused everyone would follow Lee Mun. Cheung Sam Long suspected that Lee Mun harbored greater ambitions that just helping the common folk. Cheung Sam Long agreed that it was time to raise the troops. Sak Kau was pleased with his decision, and Lee Mun elected Cheung Sam Long man to lead the troops. Sak Kau also made Lee Mun another leader behind Cheung Sam Long, and Ngai Kwong Jai were set to deal with Yeung Guo. Immediately Sak Kau, Cheung Sam Long, and Lee Mun, worked on plans which would strength their forces against Yeung Guo. One time Cheung Sam Long heard news that the 4th Lord was travelling nearby, and wanted to steal his weapons. Lee Mun also agreed as Nagi Kwong Jai needed weapons to be a formidable force. Unfortunately Yeung Lan Ling had listened in on the conversation and warned the 4th Lord as well as Yeung Guo before returning to Ngai Kwong Jai. Upon her return Yeung Lan Ling was captured and locked in the dungeon by Ching Ngow Gum. At this time Lee Seung Yee visited Yeung Lan Ling in the hope that they would become good friends. Yeung Lan Ling on the other hand suspected that Lee Seung Yee was up to something. Sak Kau, Cheung Sam Long, and Lee Mun returned later and did not succeed in obtaining the weapons. Next Sak Kau, Cheung Sam Long, and Lee Mun worked on a plan to form an alliance with another group of mountain robbers nearby. Yeung Lan Ling heard of the news and sent a message back for Yeung Guo. At Ngai Kwong Jai everyone started to suspect that Yeung Lan Ling was up to no good once more, especially when Lee Seung Yee falls ill once more. Days later Lee Mun returned after meeting with a band of mountain robbers to inform the group that the alliance had been a success. Sak Kau stayed with the other band of mountain robbers to finalize the plans. Upon returning Lee Mun heard that Lee Seung Yee was ill so decided to check her pulse. At once Lee Mun, realize that Lee Seung Yee, had been poisoned. Everyone at Ngai Kwong Jai then marveled at how Lee Mun had such great abilities, because no one else was able to detect the poison. Later Sak Kau returned to the camp to inform them of the bad news. Mo Ming Do Yan, a former personal guard of Yeung Lan Ling had attacked the other band of mountain robbers and crushed them. There alliance was thus no longer possible. At once Yeung Lan Ling was suspected of being the traitor. However since no one could come up with the evidence to prove that she was indeed the traitor she was allowed to leave by Lee Mun and Cheung Sam Long. Meanwhile Yeung Guo visits the new palace at Luoyang and is pleased. Magistrate Wong helps him capture some beautiful girls as servants which further pleases him. News arrive at Ngai Kwong Jai that Yeung Guo would travel by boat down the Yellow River. At once Sak Kau, Lee Mun and Cheung Sam Long discuss plans to assassinate him. Lee Mun decided to elect Cheung Sam Long as the leader on the mission. Cheung Sam Long in turn decided to use his own men and not men from Ngai Kwong Jai on the mission. Yeung Lan Ling continued to spy on them and realized what they were planning. The following day Cheung Sam Long, Lee Mun, Ching Ngow Gum, Chun Keng and the others saw a boat travelling down the river and assumed that it was Yeung Guo's. They boarded the boat and sank it with explosives before escaping. Little did they know that they had fallen into Yee Mun Fai Kap's trap and became surrounded. Lee Mun, Cheung Sam Long, Ching Ngow Gum, Chun Keng and the others escaped but all of Cheung Sam Long's men died in that mission. Upon returning to their hotel, Cheung Sam Long realized they had been ambushed as well. Bak Mao Dan had traveled with the group and waited at the hotel. She was now dead with her unborn child. At once Ching Ngow Gum, blamed Yeung Lan Ling for Bak Mao Dan's death and vowed to avenge her death. Later as the group headed back towards Ngai Kwong Jai, they heard news that there was a ghost at an old temple. The group went to check out what the problem was. As the group arrived they found Lee Seung Yee who was feeling extremely ill. Lee Seung Yee stated that when they were ambushed she heard someone's voice who sounded like Yeung Lan Ling. Upon hearing this Ching Ngow Gum was furious. Upon returning to Ngai Kwong Jai, Cheung Sam Long, was looking bad as he had failed yet another mission and all the men he took with him died. At the same time Cheung Sam Long refused to kill Yeung Lan Ling until evidence was found which convicted her. Finally wanting everyone to trust him Lee Mun stepped in and agreed to help kill Yeung Lan Ling and cut her head off to avenge those dead. Later that evening Yeung Lan Ling went to find Cheung Sam Long, to explain herself. She admitted to informing Yeung Guo on all three of Cheung Sam Long's failed mission, using her sister relationship with Yeung Guo as an excuse. Yeung Lan Ling did not admit to ambushing the second group which traveled with them however. Therefore she did not admit to killing Bak Mao Dan or injuring Lee Seung Yee. Once she realized Lee Seung Yee was involved, Yeung Lan Ling, became angry that Cheung Sam Long would not believe her words but would believe that of Lee Seung. Suddenly Lee Mun, Ching Ngow Gum, Chun Keng and the others emerged from the bushes and attempted to capture her. Yeung Lan Ling fled and was track down by Cheung Sam Long who could not bring himself to kill her and allowed her to leave. Lee Mun knew that Cheung Sam Long had allowed Yeung Lan Ling to leave and later attempted to persuade him to kill her the next time he sees her. Lee Mun made Cheung Sam Long feel so guilty that he charged off looking for her the following night. Meanwhile Yeung Lan Ling was being pursued by Yeung Guo for real this time having failed to eliminate Ngai Kwong Jai. Upon returning to her investigator branch Yeung Lan Ling found that most of her personal guards had been murdered. Yeung Lan Ling managed to escape and sought to Yeung Guo for an explanation. Back at Ngai Kwong Jai, Sak Kau, discovered that Cheung Sam Long had left to kill Yeung Lan Ling. Sak Kau was impressed with Cheung Sam Long and informed the others that if Cheung Sam Long does kill Yeung Lan Ling, he would be made the new leader of Ngai Kwong Jai. At once Lee Mun, did not look happy as he had made Cheung Sam Long so furious that he was certain to kill Yeung Lan Ling. Lee Mun wanted the leadership himself so he decided to go and find Cheung Sam Long to prevent him from killing Yeung Lan Ling. Lee Mun later located Cheung Sam Long who was still in a furious mood. Knowing that Cheung Sam Long would not listen to him, Lee Mun, decided to capture Yee Mun Fai Kap. Upon being captured Yee Mun Fai Kap informed Cheung Sam Long that Yeung Lan Ling infact had always wanted to collaborate with Yeung Sok Wong, her fourth brother to deal with Yeung Guo. Yeung Lan Ling was sent in Ngai Kwong Jai to help Yeung Guo, but he later discovered Yeung Lan Ling and Yeung Sok Wong's plans and ordered for her capture. Upon uncovering the truth Cheung Sam Long allowed Yee Mun Fai Kap to leave. Lee Mun then suggested that Cheung Sam Long head back to Ngai Kwong Jai to inform the others of the truth. Lee Mun himself went elsewhere. At Ngai Kwong Jai no one believed Cheung Sam Long's words and the men became furious with him. Meanwhile Yeung Lan Ling was captured by Yeung Guo who wanted to marry her off to the Tak Keut prince. Yeung Guo had executed Yeung Sok Wong and had confessed that he had murdered Yeung Sin and Yeung Yung. Yeung Lan Ling was now certain of the truth, and when she heard that Yee Mun Fai Kap was to attack Ngai Kwong Jai, she escaped to help them. When Cheung Sam Long was informed of the news that they were attacked from Yeung Lan Ling, he convinced the others to leave Ngai Kwong Jai. Upon leaving Ngai Kwong Jai was set on fire, and one of Yeung Lan Ling's personal guards went to congratulate her on accomplishing her mission. At once Cheung Sam Long and the others were led to believe that Yeung Lan Ling had tricked them once more allowing Ngai Kwong Jai to be destroyed. At once he became outraged and as the others shouted for her blood, Cheung Sam Long, slashed at Yeung Lan Ling. She suffered a heavy blow to the chest. Yee Mun Fai Kap then arrived to take Yeung Lan Ling back to the palace. Yeung Guo laughed when he heard news that Cheung Sam Long had slashed at Yeung Lan Ling. Yeung Guo then informed Yeung Lan Ling that she may as well marry the prince of Tak Keut for the good of the Siu Dynasty as there was no were left in China for her to settle down without someone trying to kill her. Having defeated Ngai Kwong Jai, Yeung Guo, relaxed and thought that no one had the power to oppose him from that day fourth. He laughed to himself as he traveled through the Yellow River.
