Writer's Checklist

This is, by no means, required for authors to fill out in order to submit their story here. It simply happens to be a list of things I have noticed that continually "pop up" with story submissions, and things you might want to think about to help make your fic the best it can be! :)

Spelling and grammar are the things that are most often "screwed up" in fics. Solution(s): Most kinds of word processing programs today feature at least a SpellCheck. It shouldn't take more than a minute or two to run it. Check out the Spelling Page. Over-use of "he said" and "she said." Yes, I know, that's the one everybody groans about because we get drilled on it in school, but writing something other that "said" every once and a while is nice. Solution(s): Try some of these synonyms... added, interjected, included, screamed, muttered, whispered, indicated, wished, uttered, shouted, stated, cringed, laughed, complained, groaned, wondered, yelled, growled, pronounced, accused, joked, sighed, announced, lectured, snickered, mumbled, told, moaned, whined, chuckled, demanded, soothed, swore, refreshed, quoted, threatened
