Life can change in a blink of an eye

My father had a stroke today. At the moment we don't know much. He's in the hospital and they are running tests.

It's official - Tony is a GEEEK!!!!

I was at Walmart last night at midnight waiting with other Star Wars geeks for the DVD set. Not only did I get the DVDs I also found a 12 inch Boba Fett and a commemorative figure set for the DVD release. I couldn't wait to watch it - I should be at work at this moment, but I called in. I know that's bad, but being a Star Wars geek is like a sickness...

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

I guess it's been awhile since I've posted anything on here and since I've commented on anyone's livejournal. My brother and sister-in-law are in town so we've been hanging out. Before they came I did a lot of cleaning. It's almost scary how messy the place was. The place was messy but it wasn't disgustingly gross - there weren't any maggot filled pizza boxes or anything like that, just mess all over. The place looks a lot better now. I even straightened out my desk - that was probably the messiest thing in the house.

Oh yeah I almost forgot...my sister-in-law is going to have a baby.

I hate going to Walmart, but I'm geeky enough to end up there tonight so I can buy the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD at midnight. I may even sit up all night watching it and then call in sick to work because I'll be too tired to go in. Hummmm....I wonder if I'm really that geeky?

Another fish tale...

I poured my nephew a snack of sweet potato puffs (what can I say - he loves the sweet potato puffs) and animal crackers on a plate and set it down for him, then I fed the fish. I noticed that we were running low on fish food so I said out loud, "We need to get more food for the fish"

My nephew looked up at me and just watched as I walked to the kitchen to get something to drink. As I was pouring some tea into a glass I could hear my nephew laughing in the other room - that's usually a sign that he's up to something that he shouldn't be. When I walked around the corner, I saw that he had climbed up and managed to pour the plate of sweet potato puffs and animal crackers into the fish tank. He looked at me and said, "fish eat papa"

I looked in the tank and sure enough the fish were eating the sweet potato puffs. As the water started to turn a weird shade of orange the only thought I had was "oh man, I'm going to have to clean out the tank"

I thought back to the last time I cleaned it and was filled with dread - I don't want to kill the fish again.
