My life as an Artist

People have told me that they like the way I draw or the things that I write. They tell me that they didn't know I was an artist or a writer. When they say that it makes me cringe because I don't consider myself to be an artist or a writer. I see myself as a regular guy who likes to draw and write. When people call me an artist or a writer I feel like I'm a sham and I'm faking my way through the pictures and stories.

Yoda - When I was a kid I saw The Empire Strikes back so many times that it got to the point where the people who worked at the theater would just let me go in for free. I loved this movie because of all the great characters and one of the best was Yoda. He is the 900 year old Jedi Master - what more is there to say? Boba Fett -The best character from The Empire Strikes Back had to be Boba Fett. I remember wanting to be Boba Fett if for no other reason than to freeze the snoty kid that lived two houses down from me - he thought he was Han Solo. Smile Now, Cry Later - This drawing is based on prison art that a friend sent me. It's not about gangs... and it's not about the theater - it's about ART
drawing of old shoes a drawing I did of leaves The Doll - I don't know what it is about this drawing, but there is something about it that I like. I think this is probably my favorite drawing that I've ever done. I liked it from the first time I drew it.

Paintings

The Dance - This was done as a tribute to my grandfather and the art he created when I was a kid. A lot of the people who have seen this painting are originally surprised and a little taken back by it because of the images, but they seem to like it once they hear the story behind it. The Sun - This was the very first painting I ever tried to do. Sometimes I feel like I'm more new age than I care to admit, this painting was created during one of those moments in my life Star Wars character: what else is there to say :-)
