My car is a story in itself. So let us start at the begining. It was nearly 1999 when my parents bought the 1988 Taurus from their oldest daughter. With only a few traces of rust my mom mostly used it for quick trips to D & W, because it was not very appealing. That Taurus didnt touch my hands for another three years. While it sat in the lonely dirt patch next our driveway I awaited the day my feet would press the gas pedal. When I started drivers training I was anticipant to finish and start driving my hand-me-down Taurus (of course not by myself, those fifty hours are KILLER). But the first time I drove that beast I knew durastic changes had to be made. Although my expectations for appearance were not fully met, (mostly because im a stupid and very impatient) but my custom cold air intake worked out excellent. If that car lasts any long I think i'm going to have to change the paint job. All in all the car's reliable, but its starting to fall apart and when I gas it something slips and I'm sick of it. I hope it is just the cold weather.

Starting of a Dream...
James' plans this summer include painting the whole car a gloss black.  The hood will remain the matte fanish.  Some body work will be required.  He's got to buy a new filter though...His other one fell off while he was driving.  It's located in his LF fender well. So for a while, and during the winter, we put the old hp- robbing-piece-of-crap ''thing'' back on.  Our creative engineering of the Cold Air Intake System, with minor flaws, creates a heapful amount of horsepower that just has to be put back on.
January, 2004 new front tires for the taurus, all balanced and rotated appropriately. Also looking into getting new struts in rear for the passenger side is shot.
When this car came out in 1986, it was very aerodynamicly advanced for it's time.  That's one of the reasons this car is and was so popular.  Today it still is one of Ford's biggest sellers.
U Wrench It out in Holland, Mi. is where i got my next idea. There i found a spoiler/air dam off a Lumina. I took it off and found a Taurus identical to mine and found, that with a few adjustments it would fit. My dad, a die maker, is gonna make me some brackets to raise the spoiler up about 8 inches. Pictures will be up as soon as the spoiler is.
December, 2003 Muffler pipe fell out from cadilidic converter. Went to Meineke Muffler got new pipe from the headers to my cherry bomb.  total cost about 95$
The combination of freezing weather, snow, and salt on the roads is taking it's toll on my car. Rust is starting to break through the bondo and appear in spots where it was never before. This car is nearing the end of it's life. I'd say it's got one more winter left in her after this one. :(
