Appearances
ATWT Fan Club Luncheon...Hollywood Christmas Parade...Rosie O'Donnell Show...Entertainment Tonight...YoungStar Awards...Teen Mags
Actors and actresses have to go about promoting whatever movie or TV show they're appearing in at various times. What follows here is Joe's appearances at various promo events, magazines, TV talk shows, awards shows, or web appearances. There may be more that I don't know about, and if I find out I'll add them here.
As the World Turns fan club luncheons
Joe has made three appearances
at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City for As the
World Turns' annual fanclub luncheon. This is an annual
event that draws fans of the show from all over. Despite his
sporadic appearances on the show, it's nice to see him recognized
as part of the show each year! The dates they were held each year
are:
2002: April 13
2001: April 21
2000: April 1
A large number of his co-stars from the show show up there as
well. Click here for photos.
1998 Hollywood Christmas Parade
On the first Sunday after Thanksgiving, every year the district of Hollywood in Los Angeles rings in the start of the holiday season with a star studded parade on the streets of Hollywood. The parade has often featured young actors and in the 1998 parade on November 29 Joseph showed up. Appropriately enough, it was to promote the upcoming release of "Jack Frost". On the float, he appeared with the giant snowman from the film!

The Rosie O'Donnell Show
Since Joe starred with Rosie in "Wide Awake" it would only make sense that he would appear with her on her show. And he did on March 13, 1998. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it or know what they talked about. Hopefully, that will soon change! The Official Rosie Site once had an "archive" link to where there were three cool pics of Joe on the show. Since Rosie's show is no longer on the air, the pics and the site are no longer. :(
Entertainment Tonight
Joseph appeared on Entertainment Tonight on December 12, 1998 to promote "Jack Frost". I don't have a copy of it but if I come across it, I will definitely post it here. Here is the ET link, though there's nothing regarding the Joseph interview there:
Hollywood Reporter's Young Star Awards
The annual Hollywood Reporter Young Star Awards were created in 1995 by the famed entertainment industry trade magazine to recognize the best in achievement by young performers. In just a few short years, their stature has risen sharply, as evidenced by the large number of nominees who attended this past year.
Joseph was in attendance for the first time at the fourth awards, held on November 7, 1999 as a nominee and as a presenter. Surprisingly, he was not nominated for his performance in "Jack Frost" even though his costar Mika Boorem was. (Though a fine young actress, she certainly was deserving too...but where was Joseph? :( Oh well...that's the nature of awards shows...their subjectivity.) Joseph was, however, nominated for "Best Performance by a Young Actor in a Daytime TV Drama", in his case his role as Casey Hughes in As the World Turns. Jonathan Jackson of General Hospital was the winner, but Joseph did get to also present the award for "Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Comedy TV Series". That award went to Mila Kunis of That 70s Show.
This was the first Young Star Awards show that was simulcast over the internet. It was available at one time, but I do not believe it to be available now. :( The simulcast was divided into two parts. There was also an "arrivals" part where fellow M. Night Shyamalan film performer Haley Joel Osment mentioned that he had met Joe.
Teen Magazines
Joe has had one appearance that I know of and another that I haven't seen. He was in the April, 1999 issue of "16" (pictured on the right) and in the May, 1999 issue of "Teen Beat" called "Up n'Comers".
