Joseph's Other TV appearances
Saint
Maybe...Dellaventura...Loving...Advertising
The following are Joe's smaller and lesser known TV appearances (but we're still including them, of course!). I haven't yet seen his Dellaventura, Loving, or TV talk show appearances on Rosie O'Donnell or Entertainment Tonight (emphasis on "yet"!!--This is a not-so-subtle hint that if anyone has any of these on tape PLEASE let me know!)
A quirky, offbeat film with an unusual message not ordinarily seen in movies: The power of religious faith. It is interesting that alot of Joseph's work is in TV and films with a spiritual/religious bent. This film tells the story of two brothers, one of whom meets a tragic end. Feeling torn apart by guilt at thinking he was somehow responsible for his brother's death through his own carelessness, the older brother finds redemption at an unusual "Church of the Second Chance". Though it, the brother learns about forgiveness and redemption. Since it is set over a long period of time, we see the children of the older brother grow up throughout the movie. Joseph is on screen for about 10 mintues total as the 10-year-old scripture-quoting son Thomas.(with red hair too! <g>)

Dellaventura
Joseph was in an episode of the short-lived TV series Dellaventura. The episode was called "The Biggest Miracle". TV Guide's description of the episode:
"The crew goes undercover as Santa's helpers to find out who's stealing toys from a store. Meanwhile, Dellaventura tries to find a boy's estranged father; and to figure out why a candle in a church is spontaneously lighting."
Joseph's part is of the boy with the estranged father who is too ashamed to see his son. I finally had a chance to see a copy of this episode and it is GREAT! Joseph has a small supporting role but does a great job as always. It has a spiritual Christmas theme and might make a nice warm Christmas double feature with "Jack Frost". See it if you ever by chance obtain a copy!

Loving
Unfortunately, very little is known (at least by me) about Joseph's appearance(s) on the now-defunct soap opera Loving. This was probably amongst the very first roles that Joe had early on in his career. The show was filmed in New York, like As the World Turns.

Advertising
In 2001, Joseph burst across TV screens in an ad for the Coca-Cola company called "Surfers". It is just about one of the coolest ads I've ever seen! Seriously, the tone and spirit of this ad, celebrating the joys of friendship and Coca-Cola, is yet another great highlight of Joe's career. Get a high-quality tape and keep it forever, it's definitely a keeper! Click here to view the ad on Coca-Cola's website.
The Coca-Cola ad was filmed near the San Francisco bay area.
Prior to the Coke "Surfers" ad Joseph, like many actors, got his start in print and commercial advertising. In an interview published on Dec. 14, 1998 by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the article described one of Joe's first ads. It was when he was 8-years-old, and was described as "a toy commercial for a glove that made motorcycle sounds when you pressed it with your thumb." Sounds funky! :) Ads are certainly a promising and lucrative way to start in the business. If I come across any more info about Joe's print or television ads, I'll post it here.
