Welcome to my world of
Storytelling!
Greetings!  My name is Terry Rollins and I welcome you to my storytelling website.  Here you will discover information about my repertoire, as well as a select list of places I've performed, some milestones in my storytelling career, comments about my telling, a memorial link to storytellers no longer with us, and finally my personal weblog and calendar.
Folks say that storytelling is the world's oldest form of entertainment and I guess that's so.  All cultures have keepers of their stories.  We know them by many different names, but they are all basically the same:  poets, shamans, troubadours, raconteurs, griots, and bards.  We also call these storykeepers, 'grandma', 'grandpa', 'aunt' or 'uncle'.
I grew up in a Southern family where storytelling was a way of life.  Whether it was conversation at supper or at a holiday get-together, or talk heard at a big family reunion, no time together was complete without loads of stories and laughter being shared.  I guess it was only natural that I, too, would grow up to be a storyteller.
So, come on in, find a comfortable place to sit, and I'll give you a tour of my world.  The little quilt patches that you see on each page are taken from a real old-timey quilt that my grandmother and I made.  Just click on a swatch to learn more about the particular topic listed.

"Storytelling is an excellent way of caring for the soul. It helps us see the themes that circle in our lives, the deep themes that tell the myths we live."
