Ken Murray writes on Wed, 29 Dec 1999 13:30:29 EST:-
Just to confirm that your John REEVE born 1700 is almost certainly the man who built Trouble House c1755. Not absolutely certain, but highly likely. It seemed likely because the John who built TH was known to be a carpenter, and your John left "timber laying about the streets or waste land" in 1735. Also, the inn was leased by new owners (remember the Taylor sisters?) to John's son Richard in 1768, and your John has a son Richard born 1733.

Another piece of suggestive circumstantial evidence has just turned up:
a reference to Richard's headstone in Bigland for Rodmarton:
In memory of
Rd. REEVE, who died
March 9, 1799, Aged 66 years.

This Richard was born 1733, so is probably yours. It is quite likely that the Richard who lived at TH would have attended Rodmarton church rather than Tetbury or Cherington (at least one other person connected with the inn did so).

Mary Reeves and her children Mary and William are mentioned in her mother Margaret Wilkins's Will Proved in 1684

Mary Reeve married 17211012 to Jonathan Aish.
Mary Reve 17030607 - 17920221 aged 89, married 17311201 to Benjamin Talboys 1688 - 17480107 aged 60, then to Robert Somers 1712 - 17840524 aged 73. She died a widow.

Robert Reeve, 16770222 - 17480911, son of John, aged 73 baptised Mary 17060326 - 17120805, and buried John 17511208. His widow Jane born 1682, aged 69 married 17510206 to William Lloyd aged 82, and was buried 17580205.
