Wedding Party Wearing the Colors of the Clan Lindsey

The Dave & Nancy wedding was definitely Scottish-American. The bride wore white. She wore her own clan colors to the rehearsal dinner and the groom's colors for her going away dress. The bridesmaids wore the colors of the bride's clan. The groomsmen wore a vest in the groom's clan colors. (We couldn't rent kilts at that time in Texas) The groom wore a kilt and Prince Charlie waistcoat, along with all his American military metals.

The bridesmaids carried heather and roses. The bride's table was draped in her family tartan, along with swans--found on the clan crest, and the groom's table was draped in his family's tartan.

The music during the ceremony mixed popular praise music and bagpipes along with the piano and the organ playing the traditional wedding march. A banner presenting the groom's clan crest was presented and prayed over. Music and entertainment at the reception included a Celtic harpist in a period costume and dancing led by the Fort Worth Country Dancers. The reception was held at a historic Southern mansion. If you want to bounce any of your own ideas off this former bride, let me know.
