She watches the movie curiously. She'd only seen a few movies, and that was a long time ago... they also seemed to have come a long way in the time she was 'absent'. Her full attention is on the movie screen, but even so, she could almost feel Kat's anxiety. She shifts a little in her seat and wonders what she was so worried about this time.
Of course. She should have thought of it... The theatre was dark... but how could she have gotten in then? It was light outside... Did Kat think she'd been in the building the whole time? How could she have possibly known they were going to go to the movies? She doesn't think to explain her arrival in the daytime with her shifting; her experience interfereing with her objectivity, since she knew shifting didn't protect against sunlight, she didn't consider that anyone else would reach different conclusions.
She shugs slightly, putting that out of her mind for the moment and settling down to enjoy the movie. She couldn't come up with any answers anyway, and the day was supposed to be spent having fun, not worrieng about something that was behind her, both litterally and figuratively speaking.

Joey borrows the popcorn from Kanga, and offers some to Changeling. She barely even looks up, she's so into the movie. Even Kat is relaxed enough to turn her attention to it.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 4:48 pm
She smiles at him and takes some popcorn. She'd almost forgotten how hungry she was, and the popcorn did little to sway that hunger, so she leaned close to Joey to tell him that she was going out to get some lunch for herself.

Posted by Joey, Kat and Kanga on 11/20/2001, 4:56 pm
Kanga blinks, turning to watch Changeling.
Kat jumps, but makes an effort to stay in her seat, anything else would look really stupid if she was wrong. She goes back to watching Changeling more then she's watching the movie.
Joey, completely unaware of the reaction of the duo just tilts his head.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 5:01 pm
She tucks a stray lock of hair behind one ear and whispers to him "I'll be right back, I'm hungry..." the first part may or may not have been overheard by the two girls behind them, because there was a sudden burst of noise from the movie. She moves to get up, glancing back at the two.

Posted by Joey, Kat and Kanga on 11/20/2001, 5:12 pm
He nods flashing a small smile, before turning back to the movie.
Kat and Kanga's eyes both widen. With ears the size of their's, how could they miss a comment like that? Kat watches Changeling leave, looking faintly panicked. Then she relaxes. If Changeling was a vampire she couldn't do anything during the day.
Not without getting burned anyway..

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 5:20 pm
She buys herself a hotdog and a drink, but decides to eat them outside so she doesn't disturb the others during the movie. She finishes fairly quickly, then returns to the theatre with the remainder of her soda. She takes her seat next to Joey and sips on her drink, her full attention once again on the movie.

Posted by Joey, Kat and Kanga on 11/20/2001, 5:27 pm
The duo look up nervously as she enters, but relax when she's doing nothing more then sipping a pop.
Joey's total concentration is on the movie. He's obviously making quite an effort to understand it.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 5:33 pm
She watches the remainder of the movie in silence, intermitently sipping her soda untill it's only ice at the bottom. She also seems to be trying to understand some things about the movie, a few refferences and actions take her a moment to put together, but she's doing alright for not having seen a movie in about twenty years.

Posted by Joey, Kat and Kanga on 11/20/2001, 5:38 pm
The movie comes to an end with a rather strange voice over on the ending credits. Kat and Kanga grin, that was almost the best part of the entire movie.
Everyone else leaves the theatre, leaving the four alone.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 5:47 pm
She blinks at the ending and stretches looking arround. She notices that they are the only one's left and stands, glancing at the two behind her before addressing Joey "I guess this is goodbie for now, see you again soon!" She smiles, her gaze lingering on Joey's face, and heads for the exit. She's not in a hurry, but being arround the two girls in her human form made her uncomfortable for some reason.

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 5:52 pm
Kanga frowns. Kat eyes Changeling for a moment, worried, then notices the look on her friends face. She had to admit that Eliza and Joey would make a better pair then Kanga and Joey. It was too bad her friend didn't realize that.
Joey half smiles and waves, looking back at Kanga and Kat after Changeling goes through the doors.
The two girls are standing, grinning at the screen as one final sceen plays. Joey just shakes his head, that entire movie had gone right over his head.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 5:56 pm
She smiles as she leaves, and waves to the cashier as she exits the theatre and re-enters her alley. She returns to the alley, shifts back into her falcon form and flies up to a lamp post, watching the doors from her petrch for the others to exit.

Posted by Joey, Kanga and Kat on 11/20/2001, 5:58 pm
The three exit the theatre a few minutes later. Kanga is chatting with Joey again. Kat is half listening, looking faintly perplexed.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 6:01 pm
She watches a moment longer, wondering idly what they're talking about and if they'd think to look arround for the falcon they's left outside.

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 6:08 pm
He looks around, searching ground level first, before looking upwards and finally spotting the falcon on the street lamp. He smiles faintly, wondering if Changeling is planning to follow them from the air or if she's planning to come down.
It hasn't occured to Kat and Kanga that they falcon they left outside might be waiting for Joey.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 6:12 pm
She screes delightedly and takes to the wing, soaring down to rejoin the trio. She lands on Joey's shoulder again and nuzzles his cheek as if she'd missed him terribly while they were sepatated. The falcon crouches down and turns her attention to the other two, studying them with an intensely curious gaze.

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 6:16 pm
The silver haired teen smiles as the feathers tickle his scarred cheek.
Kat is watching the falcon, the same perplexed frown on her face. Oh well, at least this time she wasn't walking into any more poles.
Kanga looks up as the falcon lands, then continues on with whatever she was saying.
Kat half smiles, her friend made a good freckle faced twevle year old. This thought is enough to distract her for a moment.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 6:22 pm
She cocks her head at Kat's expression, and would've smiled as Kanga continued on with her dialogue with Joey, completely ignoring the new arrival on his shoulder. She wonders vaguely how old the two really are, and keeps an eye on both of them.

Posted by The Three on 11/20/2001, 6:26 pm
"So, where to now?" Joey asks with a smile.
Kat shrugs. "Beats me."
Kanga ponders this for a moment, then shrugs.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 6:29 pm
Again, she stifles her giggle-squeak response to the same problem they'd had before and waits to hear what bright ideas they could come up with.

Posted by Kanga, Kat and Joey on 11/20/2001, 6:36 pm
Kanga continues to think. " We could go to ruckers or something.." She suggests, mostly kidding.
Kat frowns. "I think I'm out of cash."
Kanga shrugs. "Guess that kills the getting food idea too."
Kat grins, "We could go bug Mirage, or find Paradox.."
Kanga shakes his head. "I've seen that girls sister when she's mad, I don't want to see her mad. Mirage seems so nice, it would ruin the image, and Paradox is just a little too big to mess with.."
"There's always the beach.." Suggests Joey with a smile.
Kat and Kanga both look at him. "In November?"

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 6:46 pm
She looks from one to the other as they discuss their ideas, and nudges Joey gently with her beak when he suggests the beach. That could be fun... But the girls had effectively ruled out that option, besides, she couldn't propperly enjoy the sun in this form, and she'd only bring on more suspicion if she shifted.

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 6:55 pm
"Well," He says, flipping the board up onto a railing and sliding down it. "I've run out of.." His sentance is cut off suddenly as he comes to the edge of the railing. He'd been distracted by talking and hadn't been ready for the sudden drop.
He tips over, skidding across the pavement on his face and palms. He comes to a stop a short ways away, the board not far from him. "Ouch." Is his pained comment, he doesn't look up.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 7:00 pm
She's jolted off his shoulder when he goes of the railing, and screeches loudly when he falls. She knew he healed quickly, but still... She hovers above him, then lands near his hand and watches him carefully.

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 7:07 pm
He looks up, eyeing Changeling, but keeping his face hidden from Kat and Kanga. Half of his face was rubbed raw and bleeding slugishly. There was a smear of red arcoss the last few inches he skided. "Anybody got a kleenex?" He asks, still sounding pained.
Kat spots a hot dog stand and runs over, borrowing a few napkins from the vendor, who is watching Joey in concern.
Kanga hops over, trying to see how bad Joey's bleeding. She winces when she sees.
Kat scampers back, holding the napkins out to Joey. The silver haired teen looks up, giving Kat a quick look of his bleeding face. The cat mutant also winces.
He grabs the offered napkins, displaying his hands, which are also scrapped raw, and presses it to his face, wincing as he does so.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 7:14 pm
She watches, anxiously hopping arround him, frustrated at herself and her current form for not being able to help him. C'mon... heal! If you could heal me, you can heal yourself! is about the gist of her worried thoughts about now.

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 7:21 pm
He stands, recieveing worried glances from Kat, Kanga and the hot dog vendor. Still holding the napkin to the side of the face he brushes off his clothing, looking faintly annoyed. "So any idea's where to go?" He asks.
"You just crashed and you're asking were we should go?" Asks Kanga with a blink.
"Maybe we should take you home, or to Vision's or something. We can clean it up.. Or Mirage could heal you if she's around." Says Kat.
"I'll be okay.." Says Joey, walking to the skateboard, the napkin still held against his face. He starts to move away from the red smear on the pavement.
Kanga snorts, but doesn't comment. She follows after a moment.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 7:29 pm
She takes off from the ground and perches once again on his shoulder, peering at his face, trying to see under the napkin. She glances back at the red smear on the pavement, then back to the napkin. It should be getting red too soon, unless he healed...
She wonders at the way the two girls kept worrying about him. He didn't need a healer. Didn't they know he healed himself?

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 7:35 pm
They get a distance away. Joey looks around to see if anyone that would have seen his little accident was still looking. Everyone seems to have gone back to their business, but he walks a little farther just to make sure. Then he removes the napkin, checking his plams that have healed without a trace, he wishes he had a mirror.
Kat and Kanga are walking slightly behind, and therefore can't see.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 7:44 pm
She sighs, relieved, and glances back to Kat and Kanga. They were too close, they'd hear her if she spoke, so she is forced to remain silent for a while longer.

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 10:14 pm
This face has completely healed, he waits for Kanga and Kat to catch up.
Kanga looks quite impressed, even Paradox didn't heal that fast and he had the best super-healing talent in the family.
Kat blinks too, curious. "If you knew you were going to heal, what was with the napkin?"
Joey smiles faintly, still kind of annoyed with himself for the screw up. "It's not a good idea to let everyone see just how quickly I heal..."

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 10:17 pm
The falcon on his shoulder ticles him again with another nuzzle. She'd known that... but then again, maybe that kind of knowledge comes with age... and experience in concealing certain things around norms.

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 11/20/2001, 10:21 pm
The two still looked surprised. If Kanga hadn't been impressed before, she certainly was now. Healing talent was something of a badge of honor in her family.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 10:25 pm
She takes in the surprise on their faces and grins inwardly. Obviously, they hadn't known about his healing factor. The little falcon looks quite proud of herself, and croons softly.

Posted by Joey on 11/20/2001, 10:34 pm
He smiles a bit at their expressions on their faces, then grins at Changeling's comment.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 11:05 pm
She looks around at the setting sun, her excellent sight dimming somewhat in the darkening light.

Posted by Joey, Kat and Kanga on 11/20/2001, 11:09 pm
"We still don't have a clue what to do." Says Kanga.
Kat looks up, "Well, we could head home and see if Ciin's forgiven us yet."
Kanga shakes her head. "I told you trying to sneak into Vision's workroom was a bad idea, but did you listen to me? Nooo.."
Kat shakes her head, looking faintly amused.

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 11:11 pm
The bird blinks. What on earth were they talking about? Maybe Ciin was a guard dog... She had no clue.

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 11/20/2001, 11:15 pm
"And I don't think Paradox was happy with the killer bunnies..." Kanga comments thoughtfully.
Kat grins. "His reaction was almost as good as Vision's!"
Kanga nods absently. "True, but you are so dead when we get home. I think Paradox thought that you were too scared of him to do that thing of thing."
Kat blinks, souding faintly worried. "I'm dead?"
Kanga nods. "Beware, he's going to get you back for that little prank.."
Kat's eye's widen, but there's a grin on her projected face. This could be interesting....

Posted by Changeling on 11/20/2001, 11:21 pm
She watches with growing curiousity, wondering what the killer bunnies were, and why Paradox (whoever that was) would be so angry with her about it.

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 11/21/2001, 11:19 am
"So do you think we should try heading home?" Kanga asks Kat.
"I don't see why not.." Kat answers with a shrug.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 3:26 pm
She waits, watching Kat and Kanga curiously. This could be interesting if she and Joey decided to accompany them...

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 11/21/2001, 5:21 pm
Kanga shrugs. "Okay then." She eyes Joey, then Kat, asking without words if the silver haired teen can come along.
Kat rolls her eyes, but extends the invitation. "You can come along too if you want." She says to Joey. "The bird too I suppose..." She adds, with a look at Changeling.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 5:25 pm
She cocks her head and looks at Joey, waiting to see if he decided to go along.

Posted by Joey on 11/21/2001, 5:27 pm
He wanders away a bit away from the duo, pretending to think. "Want to go?" He asks Changeling quietly.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 5:36 pm
She looks at him and shrugs her wings, whispering quietly "Sure, why not? I'm ever so curious about what they're talking about..."

Posted by Joey on 11/21/2001, 5:43 pm
He smiles a bit. "Okay then.." He turns, wandering back to the duo. "Well, if you two don't mind, I guess I'll come along.."
Kanga grins, she could never mind Joey coming along.
Kat rolls her eyes, watching the expression on the projection's face echo the one on her friend real face. "Okay." She says, turning around to head home.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 5:50 pm
The falon on his shoulder screes happily.

Posted by Joey on 11/21/2001, 5:59 pm
The silver haired teen tries not to smile as both Kat and Kanga turn slightly to give the falcon a strange look. They walk for a good fourty-five mins before finally arriving in front of the tall building that Kat has learned to call home.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 6:04 pm
She eyes the building curiously. She'd seen it before, of course, but then it had been a normal building. Now it was a curious adventure.

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 11/21/2001, 6:08 pm
Kat turns to grin amusedly at her friend. "Hey, we can take the stairs this time.." She chuckles, it was kind of a private joke. Before Kat would have to go up the side of the building to get in. Kanga had to wait for an air lift from Paradox.
Kat opens the door and gestures the way through, pointing to a set of stairs. "It's a ways up.." She says in a cheery tone.
Kanga eyes the stairs and groans. "Maybe this isn't such a good thing."

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 6:14 pm
She remains on Joey's shoulder, peering inside curiously. Now she remembers when she saw the building last... she and Tracker had been moving and there had been some sort of disturbance inside that had drawn her somehow. It was strange... maybe it was because she wasn't a vampire anymore, or maybe it was because whatever had been the cause left, but it wasn't there anymore. Very interesting.

Posted by Kat, Kanga and Joey on 11/21/2001, 6:23 pm
Kat flashes a cheery grin she starts climbing stairs.
Kanga groans again before starting up herself. "I'm not built for stairs!"
Kat turns to eye her friend with amusement. "I thought you were the one with the super endurance?" She asks, sounding amused.
Kanga scowls. "I'm not built for stairs, okay? I don't see why you're so cheery..."
Kat grins, turning forward again. "Using the stairs is a lot easier then climbing up the side."
Both girls turn look back when they reach the third landing to check on Joey. They're surprised to find that he'd been climbing quietly right behind them the whole way.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 6:38 pm
She blinks as the girls disappear from sight and turns to Joey "Aren't we going in?" she wonders if he has the same limitations she used to have, about having to be invite in...

Posted by Kat, Kanga and Joey on 11/21/2001, 6:50 pm
Kat stops at the door, blinking. She's just realized that she doesn't have a key, she might have to go through the roof door anyway. She knocks on the door, hoping that Mirage is home.
Kanga waits, wondering what the hold up is. Then she realizes what the probelm is, and rolls her eyes.
Joey climbs up behind, "We're going in, I'm just waiting back here. There isn't all that much room left on the landing..." He replies quietly. It looks like there's a lot of room left, but Kanga's tail (still solid even if it is invisible) is taking up a lot of room.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 6:54 pm
Oh. She waits atop his shoulder, watching the two on the landing and looking around curiously.

Posted by Mirage on 11/21/2001, 7:05 pm
She peers through the peep hole, eyeing the crowd in front of her. She blinks when she sees Kat and Kanga in their projected forms. It was quite a shock coming face to face with the face that used to be your's and the one that belonged to your older sister when she was younger! Especially after everything else that had happened today. Then she spots the silver haired teen, lurking at the back of the landing. She looks into the living room, where Vision is curled up in a blanket.
"Feel up to company?" Mirage asks her older sister.
Vision blinks up at her. "Company? Depends on who it is.."
Mirage looks back out of the peep hole, checking it again. "Kat, Kanga.. In our old projections, might I add, Joey..... And a rather unusual falcon..." She says, narrowing her eyes as she studies it.
Vision rolls her eyes, she wasn't feeling up to dealing with Kat right now, but she couldn't just leave her younger sister sitting out there. "I guess so." She was glad that they were using the projectors she'd given Kat. That would reduce the risk of them getting attacked by a mob, at least..
Mirage eyes Vision worriedly for a moment before shrugging and opening the door.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 7:09 pm
Changeling watches the door open and studies the girl framed in the doorway, a little surprised that she should look so much like Kat, but figuring that they're related. The falcon ruffles her feathers at a slightly chilly breeze and waits patiently atop her perch on Joey's shoulder.

Posted by Mirage on 11/21/2001, 7:18 pm
She studies the group outside the door for a moment, shifting to her human form just after she opens the door. She leans against the frame, a small smile on her face as she waits for Kat to explain herself.
"Um, Hi Mirage?" Kat says hesitently. "Kanga and I decided it was time to come home, we brought Joey with us..."
"I noticed.." Mirage says dryly.
Kat blinks up at her, Mirage wasn't usually like this. "So can we come in?"
Mirage pretends to think for a moment, then laughs quietly and lets them in. "Alright then, you can come in, but leave Vision in peace, K?"
Kat raises her eyebrows. "Vision's home, already?"
Mirage nods silently.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 7:22 pm
She watches the dialouge curiously, wondering.

Posted by Various on 11/21/2001, 7:26 pm
Kat and Kanga tromp in and take a seat on the couch, Kat on the end with Kanga in the middle. Mirage takes a seat next to Vision, so that her older sister wouldn't have to deal with the squirmy Kat. Rhiow, Saash and Ciin all swarm into the living room. Saash and Rhiow taking the spot beside Mirage while Ciin remains half hidden in the shadows.
Joey steps in, hesitently taking a seat next to Kanga. Mirage seemed to be rather annoyed with him last time they met. Mirage and Vision both study the bird on his shoulder with narrowed eyes. Rhiow and Saash study Joey for a moment, watching him with more then animal curiousity. They keep shooting each other strange looks.

Posted by Changeling and Ciin on 11/21/2001, 7:39 pm
She hunkers down and gazes back at the two sisters with her intense black eyes. She keeps her wings tightly closed, in case one or the other decides to take a closer look at the strange markings on them. She watches the cats warrily, wondering if one of them was Ciin, whatever guardian the two girls had been talking about. No, these cats were far from ferocious enough looking to be protectors... it must be something else. She doesn't see Ciin as the green, catlike plant watches from the shadows, it's mind working to assymalate the new arrivals.
The large, green 'cat' flicks it's tail and watches Joey and the bird on his shoulder with what could be considered curiousity. It notes the strange atmosphere in the room and reacts, stepping out of the shadows to lay down protectively between the two sisters and Joey and Changeling.
Changeling blinks and watches the progress of the very large green cat, and something registers to her keen senses Something's wrong about that cat... and she works to figure out exatly what is different about it, other than size.

Posted by various on 11/21/2001, 7:42 pm
Kat and Kanga sit quietly, fidgeting. They felt like they were about to be punished or something. The completely emotionless, ice blue, study coming from Vision makes them feel nervous. Kanga is somewhat amused by the presence of two of the same person in the room. Kat was sitting across from Vision and she was sitting across from Mirage. Anyone stepping in the room right now would certainly meet an interesting sight.
Joey sits, almost as nervous as Kat and Kanga. He hides it by looking around with genuine curiousity. This was some house Kat and Kanga lived in....
Seeing that no one else appears to be ready to start up a conversation, Mirage makes an effort to start one. "Very interesting bird you have there. A falcon, right? I don't think I've ever seen markings like that..." She says, her attention still on Changeling.
Mirage isn't the only who's attention is on Changeling. Saash and Rhiow are studying the falcon on Joey's shoulder with the same interest. They seem to be rather amused by something, it was almost like they were planning something. The smiles on their feline faces might make Changeling wonder about their ferociousity, or maybe their sense of humor. Sense of humor? It was becomming obvious that Ciin wasn't the only unusual animal in the room.

Posted by Changeling and Ciin on 11/21/2001, 7:55 pm
She looks at Mirage when she speaks, wishing that she could change her markings. I'm alright as long as she doesn't look too close, right? Right. Good, I'll just stay over here then. And not open my wings.
When she turns her attention from Mirage, the two cats catch her eye, and she glares at them with the fierce scowl of her kind, as if to say 'Don't even think about it.'
She ignores Ciin, but still keeps it at the back of her mind, pondering it's composition.
Ciin watches all of this with little comprehension, but it knows that it is to protect this person and her things from all others. That simple emotion, almost but not quite devotion, rolls about it's senses. The cat-plant tests the air with it's whiskers, sensing any movement, object and person (and one from the other) almost as good as sight.

Posted by Various on 11/21/2001, 8:06 pm
Joey blinks as he realizes he's being asked a question. "Um, yeah. Quite unusual." He answers vaguely.
Kat looks faintly amused, she had been wondering how Joey was going to answer that one. Mirage cocks and eyebrow at him. " I didn't realize you had any animal related telepathic powers..."
Joey shrugs. " I don't."
Both Mirage and Vision cock an eyebrow this time. "So this falcon just decided to hang out with you?" Asks Mirage. Vision seems to be staying basically silent.
Joey nods slowly. "Yeah, basically."
Saash backs up a bit when Changeling scowls at her, trying hiding behind the older Rhiow. The orange tabby, however, doesn't seem to be at all frightened by Changeling. If anything she only looks more amused.

Posted by Changeling and Ciin on 11/21/2001, 8:15 pm
Changeling keeps her mind focused on the conversation and her eyes focused on the cats. The littler one doesn't seem like it'll be a problem, but the elder of the two... she worries about the look Rhiow is giving her. She'd spent centuries as a predator, and was in a predatory form now, and predators don't like being mistaken for prey. She hisses a little at the cat, soft enough so that she hopes none of the others in the room hear, but loud enough to vent her frustration. Smaller forms could be so limiting sometimes.
Ciin perks it's ears at the hiss, sensing the slight change in air currents more than hearing it. Could this small creature pose a threat to her people? It turns that question around in it's vague mind and decides to wait and see.

Posted by Various on 11/21/2001, 8:22 pm
Kanga was close enough that she caught it, looking up at the falcon curiously. She blinks at it, then goes back to staring into space.
Rhiow slips off the couch, sitting near Ciin. Saash follows, unwilling to be left behind if Saash was planning something.
Joey, who had also caught Changeling's hiss studies the cats below him.
Mirage turns her attention to Kat and Kanga, giving Joey up as a lost cause. "So, what have you two been up to?"
Kat smiles. "We went to go see Daemon Rising."
Mirage's eyebrows raise in interest. "Was it good?"
Kat and Kanga nod enhusiastically.
The small talk continues. Vision remains silent, watching the others in the room.

Posted by Changeling and Ciin on 11/21/2001, 8:30 pm
Ciin tracks the two cats' movements with it's sensory perceptions, it's mind working slowly, but surely.
Changeling glares at the cats as they come closer, watching their every move. She'd fly if she had to, but she didn't want to show her all too unusual markings... Mirage had already noticed something, so she could possibly see the batlike resemblance if the falcon opened her wings.
She's also a little concerned about Vision, the only one besides herself and Joey not participating in the conversation. Could she sense something? If she was a telepath, Changeling was in serious trouble.

They continue to chat, Mirage asking if this version of Dameon Rising was as good as the orginal, and Kat and Kanga answering.
Absently Vision wishes that she could get Twixle out here. The tiny mutant's power to return shape shifted mutants to their orginal form would be handy right about now. She didn't trust that hawk, not at all, not with wings like that.... It reminded her of something, but she couldn't remember what.
Joey has turned his attention to Cinn. Where had he seen something like it before?
Mirage blinks as she notices the spike in the falcon's emotions. That wasn't a normal reaction. She didn't even get readings like that from Rhiow and Saash, and they where the most intelligent true animals she knew off. She bet that the falcon was a shape shifted mutant..

She studies the cats worriedly. Bad, very bad... For the moment, Mirage and Vision are out of her mind, only the possible danger from the two cats remaining in focus.
Ciin studies those in the room, and realizes that it's seen one of the newcommers before when it was new. It recognizes the scent and the light patterns that reflect off of him, unique to only one person out of the eight it knew. It perks it's ears and flicks it's viney tail in recognition.

Posted by Various on 11/21/2001, 8:57 pm
Joey continues to study the green feline in front of him. It hits him a few moments later were he'd seen something like this. When he first ran into Mirage and Genesis started expirment. He blinks, rather amazed. "Is this that creation of Genesis's?" He asks suddenly.
Mirage blinks then nods, suddenly remembering that he was there too. "Yeah."
Rhiow shoots another glance at Saash. As quick as thought the orange tabby has rebounded of the couch and onto Joey's back swiping at the falcon. Saash isn't far behind....

Posted by Changeling and Ciin on 11/21/2001, 9:04 pm
The falcon screetches and takes to the wing, instinct overriding caution. She hovers near the ceiling, verbally berating the cat with loud screes. Changeling is shaken and missing a few tailfeathers, but she'd been barely faster than the cat in her escape, so no real damage was done... except that now everyone had a fairly clear view of her unusual feather markings...
Ciin watches the commotion calmly. As long as they didn't come near it's people there was no cause for alarm. Such was the simple thought process of the unusual plant.

Posted by Various on 11/21/2001, 9:15 pm
Rhiow jumps after the falcon, taking a last snap at Changeling's tail feathers. She lands primly, grinning up at the bird above her. Her expression plainly reading 'got ya'.
Saash follows Rhiow into the air a half second after. Joey snatches the fuzzy tabby out of the air without even getting a scratch, placing her gently on the floor with a scowl. "Leave her alone, okay kitty?" He says to Saash, his annoyance completely vacant from his tone. There's a small pause before he says 'her', almost as if he'd just about said something else.
Saash looks a little sheepish. She scampers over to Mirage and hops into her lap, backing into her person's stomach to watch Joey with wide eyes.

Posted by Changeling on 11/21/2001, 9:22 pm
She glares at Rhiow and dives at her before returning to Joey's shoulder and preeing her wings and tail. That was the problem about smaller forms... The food chain works in strange ways around a shape shifter. She settles closer to Joey's neck, and is surprised to be able to hear not only her own hightened heartbeat, but all of the others in the room. Bad sign... Had anyone noticed, her beak now had interesting protrusions, almost like fangs, but not. She nudges closer to Joey, trying to hide not only from the cats, but the people.

Posted by Various on 11/22/2001, 1:43 pm
Rhiow ducks back, one paw swiping at Changeling in a half hearted attempt to bat the falcon out of the air. She looks incredibly pleased with herself. To Saash it's obvious that she is thinking of going after Changeling again. It wouldn't be too hard to get at her, even if Joey was standing up. After all, even normal housecats could make it onto Joey's shoulder in one leap, and Rhiow wasn't a normal housecat.
The fluffy tabby eyes the older feline. Rhiow? What are you doing? You're gona make the guy mad! Saash didn't know why, but she didn't want to see the silver haired teen mad.
Rhiow smirks, her concentration on Changeling. I'm not trying to make him mad, I'm trying to make her mad. After all, when Jen freaks out she just about always looses control of the shift. There's no reason why it won't work on someone else. I don't think his birdy is a normal falcon.
Saash remains silent, but her eyes widen and she snuggles closer to Mirage. This was going to get interesting, and she wasn't sure she wanted to see how interesting...
Joey remains standing, studying Rhiow with narrowed eyes. There was no way those two were normal cats. The two felines almost looked like they where having a conversation. He blinks when Changeling settles closer to his neck, and tries craning his head to look at her. Something told him that something bad had happened, he just wished he knew what.
Mirage's eyes widen, not only from the sight of the bizarre markings on the falcon's wings, but at the sight of the fang like protrusions on the falcon's beak. Now where had she seen a beak like that before? She pets Saash absently as she thinks. It comes to her a moment later, that strange hummingbird that knocked Genesis out and made her sneeze for some strange reason..... but she didn't feel like sneezing. This was bizarre.
Vision narrows her eyes. Now she knew where she had seen fang protrusions like that, awhile ago when Genesis had lost consciousness and Mirage had started sneezing after that humming bird arrived. If Mirage gave any indication of getting sick Joey and his bird would be out of her house faster then anything, friend of Kanga's and Kat or not. She was willing to bet that Joey's friend was a shapeshifter. Her mind turned to Twixle again, she hadn't thought to check if the tiny mutant was still living in Mirage's old doll house in her workroom. Maybe she should go check....

Posted by Changeling and Ciin on 11/23/2001, 4:59 am
The strain of trying to focus on too many things at once is wearing her concentration thin. She takes a deep breath and closes her dark eyes, shutting out all other disturbances Slowly she regains controll on her vampire half. Her beak-fangs slowly blend back to normal, but she was afraid that they had already seen too much to think that she was just a normal bird. This was going to be difficult. It was just a good thing that they were out of direct sunlight in here... burning feathers would've been a dead giveaway. It was bad enough that they figured out she wis a shifter, she didn't need another vampire hunt to worry about... especially in a house she was unfamiliar with, in the daytime.
She opens her eyes and glances around at everyone in the room, especially the cats. The one that was on the younger girl's lap didn't seem like a problem, it was the other one... the one that had started the fight. She meant trouble, Changeling could see it in her eyes. She glances for a moment from Rhiow's form to Kat, Kanga, Mirage, and finally Vision. She worried about Vision. She worried about Mirage, but not in the same way. All she knew about Vision was that she suspected something. Atleast she knew Mirage was a shapeshifter, and that was bad enough, espesially since she'd also recognized the strangeness of her wing markings. Well, there was one less person to be surprised if she suddenly was forced to shift.
All of that thought took less than a second, and her eyes are once again on the larger of the two cats. Maybe if she managed to avoid that one, she could escape any more suspicion... then again, maybe not.
She snuggles closer to Joey, trying to hide from the prying, threatening eyes all around her. She closes her eyes again as she feels herself sliding towards vampirism, and wishes desperately that she could talk to Joey, if only to ask for help. She couldn't face so many fronts at once and keep herself.
Rhiow was right, she is no ordinaty bird, but the cat's reasoning behind her attack isn't quite right. Changeling isn't getting angry, she's frightened. The fear radiating from the bird on Joey's shoulder is intense, loud enough for Mirage, or any empath in the area to detect. If that's not a direct clue to her potential sentience, nothing else would be.
Ciin keeps a watch on the action, it's simple mind not perceiving the charged atmosphere in the room. It flicks an ear at the cats, that one was always starting trouble. It wonders, in it's way, why it's people persist in keeping such a nuicence.

Posted by Various on 11/23/2001, 1:56 pm
Vision and Mirage watch the beak melt back to normal with interest. Their thoughts are almost identical. That bird was definetly a shape shifter.
Mirage was more curious now then anything else. Why would someone remain as such a uinque falcon if one was trying to go unnoticed? She could think of a dozen better ways. Not to mention that the fear radiating from the falcon was enough to tip anyone with a hint of telepathic or empathic talent off. In fact, if that falcon got any more frightened, it might start to affect her through her talent.
Vision's face is completely blank. Even the weather outside gives no hint to her thoughts. She's somewhat surprised that malicious behvaior of Rhiow actually came in handy for once. She should probably call the orange tabby to heel, she didn't want things to get nasty and the silver haired teen was beginning to look annoyed. She gestures to Rhiow, signaling her to knock it off. The orange tabby pretends that she never saw Vision's signal, and continues with what she was doing. Vision gestures again, her eyes narrowing and Rhiow complies. She didn't want to be fried by lightening.
Rhiow jumps onto the couch, perching on the backrest behind Vision, still smirking. This was the most fun she'd had in days. She thinks she almost has it. Even she could read the fear from the falcon, and fear wasn't all that far from anger. She'd never really though of trying to scare the bird, she'd never seen Vision frightened enough to loose control of a shift. She didn't think Vision realized that if Joey didn't move she could still get at the falcon from here.
Saash watches, her eyes wide. What had started for her as fun and games had suddenly turned serious and she didn't like it at all. Why did Rhiow always have to be such a trouble maker?
Kanga doesn't notice. She'd gotten bored with the small talk and is keeping herself amused by giving her mental hand a unusual number of fingers. The roo mutant is completely unware of the tension in the room.
Kat too watches the falcon's beak return to normal, her eyes widening as she watches. What if she'd just shown a vampire where she lived? She's momentarily amused by the fact that Kanga is off in space somewhere and not paying attention to the scene in front of her.
Joey's sporadically working telepathy picks up Changeling's though, and he clears his throat, breaking the silence. "Excuse me, can I use your washroom?" It was the only thing that he could think of to get them both out of sight for a moment.
Mirage nods. "Sure. Hallway to the right." Mirage smiles faintly as she realizes just how confusing her house would be to anyone that doesn't know it. "Care to show him, Saash?"
The fluffy tabby looks distinctly uneasy at this request, but hops off the couch and walks towards the hall. She noses open the door to the bathroom and then disappears at a run, heading back to the living room.
Joey watches the young cat disappear, then tilts his head at Changeling.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 1:41 pm
She watches the cat return to the couch, and keeps a close eye on it. Cats didn't usually follow orders... there was definitely something strange about those animals. When Joey asks for the washroom, she blinks and watches the smaller of the two cats lead the way and is further curious. So if these people are used to such intelligent cats, why were they so suspicious of an intelligent bird? Cats and falcons are both predators, hense the capacity for higher learning/thought patterns. Hunters needed to be adaptable... learn from their experiences... she breaks off her train of thought when the cat leaves, and edges to the edge of Joey's shoulder. She looks up at him, speaking in a low whisper "Now what? They're suspicious of me... and with good reason! That cat..." she mentally berrates herself for having come here. She may have managed to get them suspicious of both her and Joey.

Posted by Joey on 11/26/2001, 5:18 pm
Joey shrugs, not quite sure what to say. "Well, we could leave.." He suggests after a moment of thought. The only change in expression when she mentions Rhiow is a slight narrowing of his eyes, he really wasn't happy with that cat.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 5:28 pm
She makes a face, or atleast as much of a face as a falcon can make. "That could be even more suspicious..." she ponders the problem, wishing now more than ever that she had not even been hunted in the first place... that was about the time her problems started, especially with Kat. She sighs slightly and looks at herself in the mirror, surprised for a moment at seeing herself before she remembers that she's no longer a vampire.

Posted by Joey on 11/26/2001, 5:41 pm
Joey shrugs again, having completely run out of ideas. " There's nothing wrong with leaving them suspicious." He says finally. The silver haired teen was used to such suspicion, when people realized that he wasn't going to tell them what they wanted to know they usually became annoyed and stopped trusting him, then drifted away. It wasn't something he liked doing, but it was usually necessary.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 5:56 pm
She looks troubled "Yes there is..." she looks at him with her dark eyes, strangely intellegent against the falcon's features "I don't want to ruin your life, you seem to be able to handle that on your own quite nicely..." there's a hint of laugh behind that last comment, and her eyes sparkle. She'd given up whispering, but still kept her voice low; she wasn't sure how far those cat ears could hear.

Posted by Joey on 11/26/2001, 6:01 pm
"Yeah, that's one thing I do well." The expression on his face is undefinable. As if he can't decide whether he wants to smile or sigh.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 6:16 pm
She looks around the room that they're in and shifts into a small, fairy-like form and sits atop his shoulder, grinning at him. "Maybe if I shifted into this, they'll think this is my true form? I've seen another very much like me now, so it might actually pass..." She cocks her little head and flutters her dainty wings. "I mean, they're sure to think know I'm not a normal bird after that little show..." she makes a face.

Posted by Various on 11/26/2001, 6:27 pm
Joey goes to shrug yet again, but stops, he didn't want to send the tiny fairy that was Changeling falling from his shoulder. "Maybe, but if those are normal cats I'm three feet tall with with blue fur. "
Meanwhile back in the living room Mirage is looking rather amused. "Now what is taking Joey so long?"
Kat and Kanga look nervously towards the hallway, this wasn't going as well as they hoped.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 6:44 pm
She clings to his jacket and flutters her wings again to stay on his shoulder when he shrugs, then looks up at him again, smiling "Very true. Should I just stay in bird form unless something... happens?" she's just starting to think that they'd been in the bathroom long enough, "C'mon, let's go..." she shifts back to her falcon form "But I just might have to leave yet... unless you're alright with protecting me against cat attacks..." she grins at him with her eyes and rustles her wings to get comfortable.

Posted by Joey on 11/26/2001, 6:48 pm
"I think I can manage the cats." He says with a smile as he walks back towards the living room. When he steps back into view of the couch everyone looks at him, eyebrows raised. He takes the seat next to Kanga, eyeing the group that's looking at him.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 6:50 pm
She looks around, the fear still evident, but somewhat lessened now that she had Joey's assurance that he could take care of the cats. Now she only worried about the people. They were a more subtle threat, but one she could avoid now, especially with the strangeness of the two cats taken into account.

Posted by Various on 11/26/2001, 6:53 pm
Vision's looking like she's trying very hard not to comment.
Kanga, not able to stand the silence any more blinks. "So where were we?"

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 6:54 pm
She could've giggled, but manages to stifle it to avoid more suspicion. Instead she turns her intense gaze to Kanga curiously.

Posted by Various on 11/26/2001, 6:59 pm
"I belive we were discussing Joey's rather unusual bird..." Says Mirage dryly.
Kat blinks. As much as she would love to know the real story behind that bird herself, she wished they would just drop it.
Kanga makes an effort to switch the conversation to a different topic. "Well, there has got to be something better to talk about then one wierd bird."

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 7:05 pm
She looks from one speaker to the next, keeping a close eye on the conversation. She wonders if Kanga was trying to protect herself, Joey or his bird from the attention of the two sisters. She cocks her head at Kanga's last comment Yeah, like two weird cats... and looks at the animals in question, espeially Rhiow.

Posted by Various on 11/26/2001, 7:11 pm
Mirage shrugs. "I'm open to suggestions.."
Joey takes the oppertunity to speak up. "I couldn't help noticing that your cats aren't exactly normal either..." He blinks at the hard yellow stare that Rhiow sends his way.
Mirage doesn't seem to find this odd. She just shrugs. "We're not quite sure why they're so smart, but like you said they aren't normal."

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 7:12 pm
She sits atop his shoulder, smugly noting the glare from Rhiow.

Posted by Various on 11/26/2001, 7:20 pm
That's enough for Rhiow, in a leap she's gone from the back of the couch to the floor, in another she's diving at Changeling.
Joey doesn't even blink. Before the best of the room even has a chance to register what's going on Joey snatches Rhiow out of mid-air. He holds the orange tabby so that she can't use her claws. "Leave the hawk alone, okay kitty?" He says, sounding faintly annoyed.
Rhiow just snarls at him. Annoyed that he'd spolied her fun, and that she couldn't bring her claws into play.
The only one in the room that doesn't look completely shocked is Kat, and even she's blinking in surprise.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 7:26 pm
She starts a little reflixively as the cat rushes her, but sits back when she realizes that Joey's got the cat pinned. She looks at the cat's angry face, then arround the room at the surprised looks of various faces.

Posted by Various on 11/26/2001, 7:30 pm
Everyone sits, blinking for a few moments longer. Joey takes the oppertunity to set Rhiow down after shooting her one final stern glance. The orange striped tabby gives a parting snarl before disappearing into the hallway.
Vision rolls her eyes, shaking her head. "I should probably apologise for Rhiow's behavior.." This is the first time she's actually spoken, Joey looks somewhat surprised. He hadn't thought Vision was going to comment at all while he was around.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 7:37 pm
She watches the cat go, then blinks at Vision. So she can talk. The silence hav made her wonder, and now she's curious why she didn't comment before, even about the strange markings on the falcon's feathers.

Posted by Various on 11/26/2001, 7:44 pm
Vision stands, bringing the blanket that she'd been curled up in the entire time with her. "I have work to do, I'll leave you to your discussion." She walks off, heading towards her workroom.
Mirage blinks after Vision, obviously wondering if she should let her sister back into the work room to tinker with her machine's after what she'd been through. She stands, and leaves as well. It'd probably be best to leave Kat and Kanga to their company.
Kat and Kanga blink, rather surprised by this sudden turn of events.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 7:52 pm
She watches them go and blinks. Were they up to something? She shrugs mentally. Even if they were, it probably had nothing to do with her. She glances at Kat and Kanga, waiting for one or the other of them to say something.

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 11/26/2001, 7:55 pm
"Well," Says Kat,"That was interesting."
Kanga nods absently in agreement. Then she turns to eye Joey. "So what is with that falcon?" She asks. After all, just asking couldn't hurt, coud it?

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 7:57 pm
She cocks her head at Kat. Yes, very interesting. When Kanga asks, she stiffens and glares at her with her intense, dark eyes. She waits to see how Joey handles it.

Posted by Kanga on 11/26/2001, 8:00 pm
She just watches the falcon, then raises an eyebrow at Joey.
The silver haired teen just shrugs.
Kat blinks, suddenly aware of the fact that the sun is going down.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 8:02 pm
She senses the change in atmosphere that accompanys sunset, but shrugs it off. They might have to go soon, but that could be a good thing. Anything to escape the still suspicuous atmosphere here.

Posted by Kanga on 11/26/2001, 8:07 pm
She frowns when she realizes that Joey isn't going to tell her.
Kat is staring towards the space where Vision and Mirage disappeared, her expression unreadable. "Sorry about that, Joey. I don't think bringing you along was one of the best ideas we've ever had.. I didn't realize Vision was back..."
Joey just shrugs it off. "It's no biggie.. Where was Vision?" He asks curiously.
Kat shrugs, shivering a bit. "Some lab type thing organized by the government."

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 8:12 pm
She keeps track of the conversation and blinks when Kat mentions the lab type thing. She'd heard about it, who hadn't? But she thought that once captured, mutants could never escape... she watches the door where Vision had disappeared. Hadn't there been another lab? Before... there were several missing persons, who suddenly reappeared one day. What had ahappened both times? Was it some kind of trick? Maybe, but then again, maybe not.

Posted by Joey on 11/26/2001, 8:15 pm
He blinks again, then goes spacy. Kat and Kanga exchange amused glances.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 8:19 pm
She yawns and settles back on Joey's shoulder.

Posted by Kat, Kanga and Joey on 11/26/2001, 8:22 pm
They sit in silence, lost in thought.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 8:28 pm
She flutters her wings uncomfortably.

Posted by Joey on 11/26/2001, 8:31 pm
He stands slowly, with a yawn. "Well, maybe I should be going..."
Kat blinks. "No, just because Vision's cat was being an idiot doesn't mean you have to go!"
Kat just shrugs. She really didn't care either way.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 8:33 pm
She stays perched on his shoulder and watches them curiously.

Posted by Joey on 11/26/2001, 8:44 pm
He eyes the duo for a moment...

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 8:47 pm
She yawns again and starts to go to sleep. She can feel the cooler night air outside, the sun must be set by now. Her mind wanders as she drowses on Joey's shoulder. She'd slept in-shift before, so there was no danger of her accidentally returning to her true form while she dreamed, and it was so comfortable here...

Posted by Vision on 11/26/2001, 8:50 pm
She steps into the workroom, looking around curiously. She was somewhat surprised to see that it was still in one piece, she thought Kat and Paradox would have gotten in a completely trashed the place. "Twixle?" She says quietly. "Are you still here?"

Posted by Twixle on 11/26/2001, 8:54 pm
She yawned, so quiet that any noise she made was unheard, and stretched, getting out of bed. She scampered quickly to one of the dollhouse's windows and opened it.
"Yes. I'm still here." She grinned. "Here and hungry. What's up?"

Posted by Vision on 11/26/2001, 9:01 pm
"Mirage hasn't been feeding you?" She looks faintly shocked by this. Then she remembers, Ciin probably wouldn't have let her in here. She shakes her head at that. " I'll get you some food right away. Could you do a favor for me? Do you have enough energy to use your power?"

Posted by Twixle on 11/26/2001, 9:04 pm
Her small features more than protrayed her relief for the prospect of food.
When the question was posed she thought for a moment, then said, "Yeah. I should, at least. What did you want me to do?"

Posted by Vision on 11/26/2001, 9:08 pm
She looks faintly amused for a moment, but it disappears as soon as she begins to speak. "I have a very odd falcon in my living room, sitting on the shoulder of a rather odd teen. Could you manage doing the same thing to that bird as you did you me?"

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 9:11 pm
She twitches in her near sleep and rouses slightly. Nothing much has changed... she's still in Vision's house, it's still quiet... She sighs contentedly and closes her eyes again.

Posted by Twixle on 11/26/2001, 9:13 pm
"You mean, return her to her true form if she truly is a shapeshifter?"
She left window and within moments she was walking out her front door. "Sure. Should I let myself be seen, or?" She could not help remembering that Vision was perhaps the only one in her family that knew of her own existance.

Posted by Vision on 11/26/2001, 9:15 pm
She nods. "Yes, please." She ponders the question for a moment. "I don't think it really matters. After all, with the other strange things that are in this house, one more mutant won't matter." She looks rather amused for another moment.

Posted by Twixle on 11/26/2001, 9:17 pm
She smiled, happy to finally be "paying her rent" in at least some small way. "Then lead on! I'm afraid the last time I went through your house I was in a box without eyeholes...."

Posted by Vision on 11/26/2001, 9:23 pm
"Right. This way..." She says, heading out of the workroom. She pauses in the doorway to the living room.

Posted by Twixle on 11/26/2001, 9:27 pm
She fluttered on translucent wings not too far behind her left shoulder. With a purposeful smile she flew gracefully and directly toward the predatory bird, more silent than even a night owl could manage.
Then with a small hand befitting her six inch tall body, she reached out and touched the falcon's beak. A wave of power burst through the shape-shifter, immediatly turning her into her true form, whatever it might be. No questions asked; all defences overcome.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 9:32 pm
She blinks as she feels Twixle's touch and squeaks when she is suddenly transformed into her true, human form. She looks around, her heart beating frantically. When she spots Twixle, her eyes narrow she snarls, displaying vampiric fangs. That little... she's on her feet in an instant and makes a quick grab for the little fairy, her hand moving faster than they eye could trace, inhumanly fast...

Posted by Twixle on 11/26/2001, 9:36 pm
Twixle gasped in surprise as she could not avoid the large hand. She gave a soft moan as her wings were bent and nearly crushed in the reflexively hard grip.

Posted by Joey on 11/26/2001, 9:39 pm
He's almost as fast, after a half moment of shock he's up and standing in front of Changeling and Twixle. "Eliza, let her go." He says, his voice surprisingly calm even though mentally he's berating himself for being so slow. If he'd been just a half second faster he might have got in front of Twixle before Changeling managed to nab her. The intelligence that just about always appears in times of trouble is shining in Joey's eyes now. He's also glowing faintly, and hovering a almost unnoticeable distance off the floor.

Posted by Twixle on 11/26/2001, 9:44 pm
She twisted in Changeling's grip, trying to free herself, but once she realized moving only made the hurt more agonizing, she ceased her struggle, glancing back and forth between her captor and the silver-haired teen. She recognized him instantly from a file she had seen at the HMTHS.

Posted by Changeling on 11/26/2001, 9:48 pm
She growls at the little mutant in her hand. This little... thing... had just ruined it! All of it! Now she might have to stay away from Joey, just to keep him safe... she looks up at Joey, then back down. Her human half is screaming to listen to him Ahh, she wouldn't even make a swallow. and lets her go sullenly. She keeps a close eye on what Twixle does after that.
She is now standing in the room, her chestnut hair tousled and her black eyes blazing. She's still half snarling, her lip pulled up to expose her fangs. She glares about the room, as if daring anyone to try anything. She hears their frightened heartbeats. Good.
As she looks from face to face, her eyes finally return to Joey. That same confused look comes about her eyes, then the shock and horror hit, contorting her face in anguish. She looks away, forcing herself to calm down, but it is difficult; the atmosphere in the room is still charged, and she's hungry again...

His expression remains completely emotionless. The first thing he does is catch the tiny mutant before she hits the ground, with her wings crushed she couldn't fly. When he's sure that she's not going to fall off of his palm he raises his other hand, applying a bit of healing talent to fix Twixle's wings and her other injuries.
"Vision." He says, without even bothering to turn around, he knew she was there.
Vision flinches and steps out of the shadows, the silver haired teens tone was enough to make anyone think twice before disobeying. Joey continues as soon as the feline mutant comes into the main room. "If you could take Twixle here and get her some food, that would be good."
Vision nods once, eyes wide and green in surprise, and collects Twixle then disappears into the kitchen.

She looks up at Joey gratefully as he caught her, only for it to melt into fear. She had heard some of the scientist's theories about this boy, some of them frightening as they tried to explain something unknown. But then as he healed her the fear in her eyes dissipated into wonder and then gratitude.
And then awe. She hadn't expected Vision would take orders. She had seemed too strong-willed for that.
When Vision took her into the kitchen and she waited long enough to make sure Joey wasn't hearing, she asked, "Is Joey really an...an angel?" She decided to go for the least frightening theory she had overheard.
