 Bill Keane He was my best friend in high school. Saved me many times!!!! Got me into trouble and got me out of trouble. I remember one night we went to the old city in Tripoli. Bill was driving his Dad's Volkswagen. The streets got so small Bill wedged his Dad's car between the walls. We made so much noise I was afraid we might get our heads chopped off. How many people can you get into a VW??? |
 Diane Keane She was a great friend. We could always depend on Diane... I rode the bus to school with Diane. We sat together going and coming. Diane feel asleep everyday going and coming...I can remember getting so upset with her, then laughing about it!!! Diane, Vanessa and I decided to take a short cut home through the camel market. The camels closed in around us. Do you know what camels' legs look like that close? Then one camel crammed his leg between the fender and bumper of BILL'S DAD'S CAR! The camel driver was going to tear that bumper off! The blood drained from poor Diane’s face!! |
 Carol Austin Carol was a kick!! Carol worked on her tan daily!! The first time I ever went "cruising" was in Carol's Sunbeam Alpine!! We were cool!!! One Sunday we went for a walk in downtown Tripoli. Two guys tried to pick us up!!! Just about scared us to death. We ran into a building and they came after us. Up the stairs we went. They came right up behind us. We were sure we were going to the white slave market!!! All they wanted was to tell us they knew a friend of ours!!! |
 Carole McCartney She was so sophisticated. Carole went away to the University of Paris. I wanted to be worldly and sophisticated just like Carole!! She had neat clothes and colored her hair. Pretty much did as she liked. Carole I wanted to be just like you!!! Important Link |
 Mary Wray The guys all loved Mary. We were really good friends. She dated the drummer below, and I the singer. The four of us would ride around in Nini's car. Hour after hour. We always had a lot of fun!! In 1997 Mary and I once again live close together and see each other every month. |
 Well here I am in 1964!!!! Dana Davenport I had a wonderful time the year I went to Wheelus High School. Fell in and out of love like all girls should in high school. Spent every free minute on the beach.... I remember the golf club being a home away from home. Cokes for breakfast. Dances at night. And ALWAYS a friend somewhere close by. |
