Haldir had been waiting further down the Lothaelin’s path, she had traveled no further than twenty miles when Argo slowed down and neighed. Argo halted as Lothaelin looked around; Haldir walked in front of Argo and started petting her slender face.
“Lothaelin, where are you going?” He asked curiously.
“I am headed for the Old Ford. Why is it that you ask me?” She wondered. Haldir looked up at her ere walking towards her and taking her hand in his, looking into her bright green eyes.
“Listen, Lothaelin. I do not know why, there is a shadow growing in my mind clouding over my thoughts. I fear that I won’t see you again.” Haldir looked at Lothaelin in a different way that she had never known before. Kindness, compassion, fear…she could read in his eyes.
“You will see me again, Haldir.” She replied gently, her voice softening. Haldir did not take his eyes away from hers, although she could feel as though he were faltering.
“I hope that is true, for there are things I do not understand that you need to tell me…as for now the only thing that I can say before you leave, before it is too late-” Haldir caught himself and let go of her hand, slowly recoiling. Lothaelin reached down and caught his hand.
“Please, Haldir. What is it?” Haldir stared into her eyes before shaking his head.
“I should not have come here, it will only cause you more grief.” Lothaelin’s mind seemed to be in a race with her heart, she could not figure out what Haldir was trying to tell her, yet she was overcome with concern.
“Amin mela lle, Lothaelin. I always will.” Lothaelin let go of his hand in surprise; Haldir began walking away from her as she remained on Argo staring after him. She could not decide whether to go after him or to keep on going, for a few moments she remained seated on Argo staring at the spot Haldir had been when he had told her he loved her.
She knew in her heart that she loved him too, but with a friendly love, almost a brotherly love. Not the love that she was afraid of, the love she now had for Frodo. Yet, she could not help but feel guilty for not loving him back the same way he loved her. Lothaelin patted Argo’s back and she began galloping towards the Old Ford once again, Lothaelin wondering if leaving would be a good idea for the fellowship, as well as Haldir…There, in her heart was the feeling of regret.

I crossed the Old Ford early this morning and am now in the Gladden Fields, Argo needs a rest before we continue our journey Parth Galen though it is five days from here. I shall give Argo a rest every day at night for a while before we continue on though it will slow us down. But I do know that we will reach there before the Fellowship does, I am worried that whilst they travel they might get attacked. I do hope that this will not happen, for I am supposed to be protecting them. I do not know where they are, but I hope that everything is okay.
Lothaelin and Argo continued on after she finished writing another entry. They passed many trees that were in the Mirkwood Forest, she longed to run Argo in that direction to visit Legolas’ friends and family, to sing and be joyful instead of feeling hesitant to move forward. She wondered if looking into the Mirror one last time would benefit, but decided against the thought. It would be better to not know her fate, or the fate of Haldir and of Middle Earth. That would have to wait until the time came…
Lothaelin suddenly heard Aragon's voice through the many trees, she could see Legolas peering through the trees as though looking for something. Lothaelin could feel a warning but did not know what it was for. She saw Frodo walking around the woods, he passed a giant stone head that had leaves fallen all around it.
He paused as Boromir suddenly came and spoke to him, he was collecting wood and he picked up a few more pieces of woods before stopping to look at Frodo. Boromir threw down his wood and started following Frodo, he continued to walk and Boromir grabbed him, they both fell to the ground and Boromir demanded the Ring. Frodo slipped it on and disappeared running away from Boromir.
From behind the trees Lothaelin could see everything that had happened. She listened to the crunching leaves and followed the sound so that she could find Frodo. She stopped as she came to a large stone with stairs, she could see the Eye watching her and speaking its foul language. Suddenly she saw Frodo hit the ground, she quickly climbed a tree just as Aragorn appeared.
"Where is the Ring?" Frodo jumped up and ran.
"Stay away!" He shouted at Aragorn’s demand for the Ring. He stopped as soon as Aragorn continued to talk to him.
"I swore to protect you." Frodo then showed him the Ring and Aragorn walked towards it not taking his eyes away from it. He placed his hand above it as though to take it, but knelt down and closed Frodo's hand holding it in his own.
"I would of gone with you to the end, into the very fires of Mordor." Aragorn said pushing Frodo's hand toward him.
"I know. Look after the others." They looked at one another for a moment.
Lothaelin watched but her attention was soon drawn to Frodo's sword Sting that was now glowing blue. She pulled out her own sword from the sheath and it too was glowing a bright blue. She looked all around until she spotted the Uruk-Hi coming towards them; there were hundreds.
Aragorn yelled at Frodo to run, Frodo remained and looked ahead before he ran and Aragorn walked towards the Uruk-Hi.
Lothaelin did not know whether to run after Frodo to ensure that he was safe or help Aragorn. But she knew that Aragorn would not need any help for the rest of the Fellowship was around and would soon know that there was danger.
She jumped down from the tree and started to run after Frodo but stopped as soon as she was a few feet away. She turned back to find Aragorn fighting with the lot of Uruk-Hi. Though there was many, he did not seem as though he needed any help.
"Find the halfling!" One of them yelled.
At that moment, Lothaelin started running after Frodo hoping that he would be safe before the Uruk-Hi found him. She ran down a hill and stopped as soon as she heard Merry and Pippin talking. She hid behind the bushes and listened.
"Frodo! Hide here quick!" They motioned to him but Frodo shook his head. She knew that he was going to leave the Fellowship and carry on this task on his own, but he would not be alone for she would follow him.
Pippin did not know what Frodo was doing; he asked Merry and Merry told him that he was leaving. At that Pippin stood up and shouted; he realized that there were more Uruk-Hi and they were now running in their direction. Merry stood up beside Pippin and they looked from Frodo to the Uruk-Hi.
"Go Frodo." Merry whispered so that Frodo could hear him.
"Hey, hey you over here!" They both yelled at the Uruk-Hi, the both bolted through the trees leading the Uruk-Hi away from Frodo. Lothaelin watched as Frodo continued to run, she then followed Merry and Pippin as the Uruk-Hi were gaining on them. The Uruk-Hi were closing in on them and drawing nearer just as Boromir appeared to save the two little ones.
Lothaelin climbed a tree as fast as she could and took out an arrow from her quiver before shooting it at a Uruk-Hi below her.
She quickly grabbed another arrow and jumped down from the tree, landing on another Uruk-Hi. She shot the arrow through his head and jumped off him before he fell to the ground. The two hobbits looked at her in surprise and did not know what she was doing. Another Uruk-Hi tried to get one of the hobbits and she grabbed her sword from her sheath and threw it at the Uruk-Hi, it went right through his head. The two hobbits held onto one another as the Uruk fell to the ground right in front of them.
"Hide!" She yelled at them as Boromir blew the Horn of Gondor a second time for help. More Uruks started to run in their direction and Boromir led the hobbits and Lothaelin away from them. The two hobbits ran between two trees and looked behind them as Lothaelin shot another Uruk in the face. She ran back to pull her sword out of the other Uruk's head and she stabbed another one.
The clinging of the swords gave her an adrenaline rush and she used an arrow to stab one of the Uruks' throat and her sword to thrust it into another. Her back was to the leader; Lurtz and she did not notice him raising his bow aiming straight for her.
Merry and Pippin both saw him and they stood frozen in fear. Pippin saw a piece of wood and picked it up, he threw it at Lothaelin and she tripped and fell to the ground on her stomach. She had just lifted her head up to see the arrow zoom past her and hit Boromir. She and the hobbits watched in horror as he stumbled, and tried to catch his breath. But he stood up and started fighting with the other Uruk-Hi as though nothing had happened. Boromir had just turned around as another arrow struck him just below the other one.
Lothaelin tried to pull herself up but could only manage to sit up. She kept trying to stand up but could not, so she grabbed her arrow and bow and aimed it at the Uruk, but she faltered and she missed just as he sent another arrow straight in Boromir's path. The hobbits raised their swords and screamed before running in to help, but the Uruks just picked them up and carried them away.
"Pippin, Merry!" Lothaelin tried to scream, but only managed to whisper. She sat frozen in her spot as the hobbits were carried away.
"I'll come find you! I promise I will find you!" She stood up and climbed the tree painfully, she sat on the branch just as the Uruk stood in front of Boromir and aimed another arrow at his head. She was about to shoot when Aragorn jumped on him and the arrow flew in her direction.
She jumped down from the tree just as the arrow grazed her cheek. She watched the two of them fight as she ran to Boromir's side, the Uruk threw a dagger and Aragorn and he raised his sword and swung it so that the dagger flew towards the ground. He ran towards the Uruk and cut off his arm before stabbing him in the stomach; the Uruk grabbed Aragorn's sword and pulled himself closer to Aragorn. Aragorn pulled out his sword in one swift motion and chopped off his head before running towards Boromir.
Lothaelin knelt by them not knowing what to do. She knew that there was no way that she would be able to heal Boromir, though she wished that she could! He was a brave and honorable man that she adored, and would give anything in the world if he lived. She quickly stood up and ran to where she last saw Frodo heading, towards Parth Galen. She could still hear Aragorn and Boromir talking as she was running down the path hoping to catch Frodo before he left.
"Our people...our people." Boromir smiled. "I would have followed you my brother, my captain, my King." And then, there was no more talking; she knew that he had died. Her eyes stung but she blinked away the tears as she kept running.
