About Us
Mike and I live in East Tennessee  - the Great Smoky Mountains and Dollywood are at our back door.

In '70s and early '80s, before Mike and I met, I raised finches as a hobby.  I had canaries and a blue-headed Pionus Parrot also, but never bred them.

Now that I'm done raising kids, I've taken up my hobby again raising finches, and this time also canaries, which have always been my first love.

Besides canaries and finches we also own or are owned by two cockatiels, Gretchen and LowRider.  LowRider is a rescue bird who has been with us for several years.  He was in pretty bad shape when we first got him.  We guess his age to be about 15-17 years old.  Gretchen is his room mate.  She is a gorgeous and very loving two-year-old pearl white face.  She really keeps LowRider moving - he used to be a couch potato before she came along.  They have tried to mate, but so far, no luck.  Gretchen has laid eggs, but  they have not been fertile.  We are wondering if LowRider is simply too old to father any more babies.

Besides birds, we love to go camping and fishing - which is Mike's first love.  Mike ties his own flies for fly fishing.  In my spare time I love to do all kinds of needlework and beading.
