| Eat Mat: (See Face Plant) Element: Single movement in a routine. Element Group Requirements: Under the current Code of Points, the specific skills required ("skill families") that the gymnast must show at some point in his or her routine on each event. Currently there are five EGR skills required for every event. Example: One EGR for the uneven bars is a release move. Elite: A gymnast who has reached the highest competitive level of the sport. This term is used in the United States, Austrailia, and other nations but is not universal. Event: An apparatus. Example: Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, etc. Execution: The performance of the routine. Form, style, and technique are used to complete the skills constitute the execution of a routine. Execution Score: Also known as the B-Score of a routine, the Execution Score is determined by the B-panel of judges. It begins at 10.0, with deductions made for errors and faults in technique, execution and artistry/composition. Exercise: Sequence of movements forming the gymnast's performance on an apparatus. Also called a routine. |
