We formed I think in like early 2000. Our first practice was sometime in January. We got our name because one day I said to Andrew Dunn ,"Hey what if there was a band called 'The Secks" pronounced "sex". About a month later, he said, "Hey, Mark, lets start a band with Jason Sanders called 'The Secks'". Damned name.
So it was me, Jason, and Dunn. We had our first show in May of 2000 I think at a mixer at MBA. We got a second guitarist, Phil Dempsey, for that show, but then gave him the boot when we realized that our songs were too simple for 2 guitars. So then after that we sat on our asses until thanksgiving break of 2000, when we had our second show. Around April or something or 2001, we replaced Dunn with William Kaminski and played a bunch of shows in between then and when we had to go to college. Then we went to college. Then just played another show over Thanksgiving break. We practiced 3 times for it and weren't god awful. So we're all in different corners of the country, but will play shows on holidays. |
