Growing up together in the western New York town of Batavia, the group's members quickly became friends. Each had their own band which they'd been a part of, and each band had played countless shows together in the local scene.

It was in September of 2002 when the band members found themselves starving for something new.  Each had a love for Canadian singer-songwriter Matthew Good's music.  They found a spot available in the Batavia High School homecoming bonfire show.  With just two weeks of preparation, the six members of The Underdogs came together to pulled off an amazing 25 minute set of Matthew Good covers.

Since then they have written a handful of their own material and have compiled their best work to form their two albums...;
      The Seal of...                                                and Children at Play
