Microsoft Flight Simulator 100% Unofficial Review

This simulator does provide lessons to get you used to the controls and the handling of the Virtual aeroplane, however the instructions that are given to you may end up being a bit too advanced for the beginner as there is no explanation of the cock pit controls. The controls are also either over responsive or under responsive and of course as with many games it is under responsive when you most need to act quickly (e.g. to avoid crashing) and over responsive when you just want to slightly adjust your heading, both of these ussually result in a crash of some kind! (good job it's not real life, eh?). Also the game says mouse and joystick compatible, however i would recommend the use of a joystick, as it provides much more accurate control and is specialised for gaming.
Other than the introductory lessons the game also includes adventure flights. This is where you are set a mission to complete. These can be good fun but only after hours of mastering the controls on the tedious beginner lessons.
Overall I ould rate this game 6/10, not a must have but worth having a go on if your mate has got it!

TVFC REVIEW:
Game: Microsoft Flight Simulator
Cost: £10 (on sale, they don't come much cheaper)
Graphics: A bit pixilated in parts, but overall Ok
Playability: Takes a long time to master
Console: PC
TVFC Rating: 6/10 (OK if you like that sort of thing)
Fly Lite 100% Unofficial Review

This simulator was the more wallet empying of the two, however at first it does seem to have less features. However, on further inspection I found that you could actually plan your own flight (which to me seemed quite a nifty feature). But this can prove to be more trouble than it is worth! Once you have planned your flight, you finally enter the simulation (after ten wasted minutes of loading). You find yourself on the run way, surrounded in really cool scenary but there appears to be no actual means of getting off the ground. the attention to detail is so great that their are even more knobs and pullies then necessary and just starting the engine can be hours work! Also be warned the game can freeze which may mess up your computer! The scenary is really good but you don't get to see much, stuck in a grounded aeroplane!!! There you have it, the Fly Lite simulator which claims to be "more like flying than flying" I am not convinced!
