After spending seven years in prison for manslaughter, Gallo comes home to his wife Juana, his sister Chata, his 20-year old son Hector, and his eccentric young daughter Angela. Gallo's return sets off a fierce father son conflict with Hector: a conflict centered around prize fighting cocks that Gallo raises. Hector has inherited an expcetional bird for his grandfather, a bird his father desperately wants. Soon the two men have entered into a battle of wills that will effect the entire family's future.
