BIOGRAPHY
Hawaiian-born actor Mark Dacascos is known primarily for his work on the television series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven as Eric Draven, but he has accomplished much more throughout his lifetime. Born on February 26th, 1964, Dacascos has been a student of kung-fu and won hop kuen (his parents are both martial arts masters) for most of his life, and at age nine he won an international tournament. His family moved frequently while he was young, and as a result, he became fluent in Mandarin, Chinese and German. Due to his expertise in martial arts, it should come as no surprise that martial arts movies make up the bulk of his film career.
Dacascos made his acting debut in the 1984 film
Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart for director Wayne Wang, however his role never made the final cut of the film as it was deleted before its ultimate release. And between that film and his 1990 movie Angel Town, in which he appeared alongside fellow rising action star Olivier Grenier, he provided some stunt work for the 1987 movie Steele Justice. His breakthrough role (or sorts) came with Double Dragon (1994), the live-action feature based on the popular video game in which Dacascos starred as Jimmy Lee. The movie was a box office flop and eventually was panned by critics and moviegoers alike.
Nevertheless, he has kept busy over the past decade, balancing his thriving video career, thanks to such successful films as
Drive (1997), Boogie Boy (1997), No Code of Conduct (1998), The Base (1999) and China Strike Force (2000), with a theatrical career with minor roles like in the big budget remake The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996) and supporting roles in Brotherhood of
the Wolf (2001) and Cradle 2 the Grave (2003), in which he tried his hand at playing a villainous role.  (A majority of this biography was taken from Yahoo! Movies).
