Gammon) was a United States Army Ranger before he started acting. - During the tank chase scene, the resulting explosion from the tank cannon "firing" actually destroyed the barracks. - The entire movie, with the exception of the scenes in Los Angeles, was shot at former Victorville Air Force Base. - Followed by a TV-movie sequel: The Base 2: Guilty As Charged (2000)
