ENGLAND Having gone to an English school, the logical thing to do was to go to England for further study. I have lived in the UK for 3 years now, exclusively in Manchester and currently in London. All the things that I've heared about England before moving here were true, and I experienced them first hand, but when other people get put off by the bad weather or the overinflated prices, I just just don't really care and have learned to compromise. Manchester was great, since I am a fan of big cities, and it was completely packed with students being host to more than 4 universities. It is quite graphical with its red brick buildings and in my opinion really adapted to the student lifestyle. I've always said to myself that if you want to be a good businessman in Manchester, you will either open a pub, a club or a kebab shop, preferably all three perpendicular to each other. There are lots of things you can do, and besides the absence of an ice-rink, the inline hockey is quite advanced there. I've also visited Wales (you can tell when you're in Wales when the road signs stop making sense and due to the increasing numbers of sheep). When I visited London for the first time last July, I was completely amazed. I remember telling myself that this is the city I want to live in. It is one of the greatest capitals in the world, and there is still a lot I have to learn about it. |
